Australian Domestic Season 2022-23

As I suspected the pitch at Melbourne is as green as the area's voting preferences. Why do groundsmen seem to have so much trouble preparing a pitch with just a bit of grass in the Shield? Seems to be either a jungle or desert.

chris green averages 12.44 with the ball and 44 with the bat in FC pass it along

Probably going to be seeing plenty more of Chris Green because domestic umpires are largely either unwilling to pull bowlers up on having a questionable action, or unable to notice what one looks like in the first place. Bit different in the BBL with it being fully televised, but honestly it seems late career Saeed Ajmal could rock up in Shield cricket and have no umpire bat an eyelid

I see Jake Doran has decided to make his one yearly good Shield knock today

EDIT: and he gets out now. Still a useful innings in the game context. Vic pace attack did alright for being so raw imo, but at times the lack of experience showed

It really just isn't happening for Maddinson this season at all, honestly really not sure giving to the captaincy to a bloke who is in a struggle to find some form was a wise thing to do, but on the other hand it isn't like anyone else in the team is a good alternative

Maybe Dean but he isn't exactly flying himself this season tstl

Gannon got done for a dodgy action a few season's back didn't he? Unsure how his action looks now.

2012/13, so absolutely ages ago. Still very much chucks it, the fact that he never got pulled up in that season where he was near the top of the wickets list a couple of years back was absolutely insane. Complete failure to actually do their job on the behalf of the domestic umpires in this country

Good win to Tasmania, good game of cricket in general. Have to say, the lack of experience in the Vic pace attack got exposed a bit there, nobody this morning really able to execute sustained pressure in the manner one would suspect Boland to be able to do had he been available

One round left before the season goes on hiatus, expect most of the PM's XI (pretty much Australia A anyway) to be back available so some more familiar looking teams for that are likely
