Hussey getting a gig is a shame. the guy's trash
Too nervy and his voice isn't something you want to hear on comms for hours a day, like listening to some IT dude in a bar.

Neither is Ponting's tbf. Need Brayshaw's powerful lungs in the box asap.

Hussey's been better on radio IMO. Was pretty boring on 9 but I think he'll get better as time goes on.

he just doesn't contribute anything remotely insightful or interesting. he's the very personification of the commentator who gets hired because of his playing career. even when he's tough on someone, it's in the most generic and boring ways. it's no better than hiring any of the C9 crew

kinda think Gilchrist to FTA and Ponting to Fox would have been better.
this applies to Mel Jones too. Gilchirst and Jones always seemed a cut above the rest of the C10 people when it come to having to do the awful cross promotion and anchoring stuff that FTA commentators need to do. I can't imagine Ponting will be much good at it, and Ponting probably won't be able to analyze as much stuff as he would if he was on Fox. Although I guess C7's Aus open commentators would just straight up ignore a cross promotion ad when it got shown.

Everyone at Nine barring Chappell and sometimes Lawry were guilty of this. So much that when Warne called Starc soft it was like the Lindt cafe x 911.

This is spot on. But you don't mind having a guy like that if the rest of your commentators are more opinionated.

I love opinionated commentators who would instantly blurt out things that come to their mind, without premeditation.
Guys like Sehwag: Bangladesh is an ordinary team; off spinners are not bowlers; if the ball swings, give it a few mighty wacks and it stops swinging; etc.
Most people don't like to hear Warne; to me, he is great entertainment.

I actually think this fits right in with "generic and boring" criticism. It was differentbecause Warne was so clearly vindictive in dishing it out, but across sport media commentators love to accuse an under performing team/player of not being tough enough, not putting enough hard work and all that, and it's just a load of rubbish in place of proper criticism and analysis, but Hussey is very much that part of mould

didn't realise nine would still be showing some cricket.

"Nine also confirmed on Monday that they will be the exclusive broadcaster of Australia's Qantas Tour of the UK next month."

so this isn't on fox?
Nine still has the next Ashes and World Cup.

Then Tubby and Heals are off to Centrelink.

Have to feel for Healy, this is twice now he has lost his career to Gilly. At least Zoehrer only lost one career to Healy.

He'll probably get parachuted into a safe Liberal seat, if there is such a thing post-election. He shills enough for them as it is.

Healy does the news for Nine in Brisbane doesn't he? He'll still get a gig. Pretty successful businessman by all reports too.

Wait what? We still have to wait what another two years for Nine's coverage to actually die?

Yeah Nine still have the rights to the World Cup, World T20 and next year's Ashes.

But given Nine no longer have the Australian summer rights, we'll probably just see Nine take Sky's feed for the Ashes and the global feed for the World Cups with whoever's not contracted (Taylor, Healy, Clarke?) doing work in the studio or something.
