Marnus is no captain yet and suggesting that he should be is falling for the oldest cardinal sin that your best bat must therefore be your best captain (now that Smith can't until the moral memory evaporates).
Marnus as captain would be incredible

Red

The normal awards that everyone else has
Warner- prob not given his age and his prominent role in South Africa
Pukovski- give him 5 mins to establish himself
Labuschagne- odd cat, maybe but he seems a bit annoying
Smith- depends if you wanna overlook SA.
Wade- if he made runs I’d say yes but he’s the batsman closest to being dropped
Green- looks a leader but too soon
Cummins- most decent guy and seems pretty respected. Unsure if long term pace bowling captains is good
Starc- just doesn’t seem captaincy material
Haze- possibly, seems switched on and durable. See Cummins tho
Lyon- bit old and doesn’t seem like a captain

How long til Paine retires you guys think? Next will be Smith or Labu, Green could be a potential future candidate after then.

Mr. Glass
marnus should be getting support from the waugh family after recent events

dorky au captain should be awesome but he'll need a strong vice who can reign warner in

Niall

International Coach
Smith obviously.

He accepted a long ban, came back and from all accounts has done nothing wrong since.

It wasn't as if he murdered someone ffs.

I have never entirely forgiven Smith for his failure to enforce the follow on in Adelaide 2017 honestly. Way to make what should have been a thrashing far closer than it needed to be

Sehwag and Darren Gough would disagree with you there after the 3rd Australia/India Test with their remarks about him on Twitter.

Drop Paine, bring in Carey and make him captain would be my call.

What the **** is that plonker Darren Gough mouthing off for, what does it even have to do with him.

Then he's never had a problem inserting himself front and centre. Everyone remembers him carrying on like a chop at the MCG, but really it was Dean Headley who deserved the credit there

Perhaps if all of he players were to lie upon Labuschagne at once, this would correct his behaviour?

Fox’s stump mics were picking up a lot of chatter yesterday. Marnus gets told to shut up a lot by his teammates (it all sounded good banter between the lads, Marnus was laughing and playing in t).

May have also been a subtle jab at Warne and Roy, I dunno.

I'm certain there were overt references to Hoggpiling when he was bowling. "Come on, Hoggy"

Which shows a lot of what social media decides to get outraged about matters sfa to these guys. Probably all just laughing about Warne and Roy’s comments.
