They need 12 off 12 and they're nine down. Gillespie's bowling now, currently has five wickets. Help.

EDIT: Oh, make that six. 9 run win, woohoo. :D Gillespie finishes with 6-55, Oddy 3-62.

With ten overs to go, they needed 73 runs, with six wickets in hand, one batsman on 111*, the other on 71*. Gillespie returned to the attack and dismissed them both in his first over, and we just managed to hold on to win.

Just got given a team boys, I wanted to find out what this is all about. I don't have much idea what I'm doing though, but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it

Hey cameeel, are you fielding a full strength team for our friendly? Cause I wanted to give some of my other players a run

Doesn't matter now, I wanted to give one of my new purchases a run, but looking at him he'd probably make my first XI anyway.

Might play my next cup match on Take It Easy to get my fitness up before my next league match, even though my cup opponent seems quite strong. My next league match is against the current leaders (one of two other teams with two from two) and they appear to have a freakishly good bowling lineup. My batsmen are in good form though, with their scores so far this season being: 324/3 (50), 277/1 (47.2), 368/3 (50), and 326/2 (50), so it should be an interesting battle. Might be tempted to play that match on Go For It though.

Bowling order still needs a little reshuffling. I think I'll keep Oddy as Gillespie's opening partner for now, after he picked up a handy 3-62 in the last match. Partridge sadly has played his last match for my club, after being usurped by a younger spinner. I think I'll look to sell Partridge soon. Berry usually gets the fifth bowling spot by default since he's an allrounder, but I haven't had the need to use the extra batting depth this season, so it's possible the fifth bowling position might go to a specialist sometime soon. Berry's not that bad - competent bowling, but worthless consistency. He's already 23 though, so not really worth training. Still, as a strong/competent allrounder he'll fetch a more than useful sum if and when I sell him a few seasons down the track. Only problem is that he's the captain, and none of my other first XI regulars have better than respectable leadership.

Ok, my BEst XI could be mistaken for a second string side anyway :p

Well, Magical Ponies beat Kipper XI (cameeel) today

Magical Ponies 4/327
Hessenthaler 104* (94)
Andrew 82 (100)
Fonseka 48* (27)

Brydon 2/50 (10)
Davies 1/44 (10)

Kipper XI 239 (45.3 overs)
Attwood 73* (94)
Fearns 57 (49)
Waterhouse 45 (52)

Heard 3/33 (7.3)
Ohara 2/53 (10)

A bit disappointed with my most hopeful youngster, Sutton, only making 23 but it was a good match with some youngsters (Hessenthaler, Fonseka) standing up

Finally a half-decent youth pull:

Chris Street (312149)
RH Batsman, RM Bowler, respectable form, Healthy
A cautious player with respectable leadership skills and worthless experience.

Plays For: Asterix XI
Nationality: West Indies
Age: 18 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 2,243
Wages: £573 p/w

Stamina: woeful Wicket Keeping: abysmal
Batting: woeful Concentration: feeble
Bowling: competent Consistency: woeful
Fielding: feeble

Would've preferred a 17yo proficient spinner, but chances of that are rather slim. I'm happy with that though, only the second time I've managed a competent youth pull. Only problem is that I have absoutely no training slots available. Might have to fire a couple of the batting coaches and hire more bowling coaches, since all the batsmen being trained are 20yo. I'll try to get a youth batsmen next week. Might give this guy a go in the cup match tonight, though I'm playing it on Take It Easy so it might be a bit risky.

Oh, and my youth academy popped to proficient yesterday as well. Probably not a coincidence.

Looks pretty good, Adam. My recent bowler was absolute crap (abysmal in just about everything)

What do you think about this guy, he just hit the hundred for me and was a recent purchase of mine. Obviously his good concentration was a big factor in buying him.

Steven Hessenthaler - 18 yo, BT Rating=3,199
LH Batsman, LH Spin Bowler, respectable form, Healthy
An attacking player with competent leadership skills and worthless experience.

Looks decent, particularly if you picked him up cheaply. With a bit of training he could be something like competent/strong (batting/concentration) which is very good. I'm not really sure how significant concentration is, since none of my batsmen have good concentration (the best is competent), but if he's hitting hundreds, that suggests it's pretty important.
