Batting

Ron Stroud - 655 runs @ 40.94, 4 Half Centuries, 2 Centuries
Gerry Taylor - 514 runs @ 39.54, 4 Half Centuries
Greg Ludlow - 390 runs @ 27.86, 3 Half Centuries
Lewis Nieunhewis - 363 runs @ 29.53, 2 Half Centuries, 1 Century
Rob Appleyard - 351 runs @ 31.82, 1 Half Century, 1 Century

Bowling

Hamid Meyer - 27 Wickets @ 23.30, SR = 32.89, Econ = 4.25 1 5-fer
Lloyd Groves - 21 Wickets @ 35.71, SR = 34.57, Econ = 6.20
Toby Verhoeven - 10 Wickets @ 31.90, SR = 39.00, Econ = 4.91
Rocky Walton - 10 Wickets @ 73.7, SR = 78.00, Econ = 5.67
Kevin Savage - 9 Wickets @ 73.00, SR = 83.33, Econ = 5.26

I'll really be looking for a huge improvement from all but Stroud & Taylor with the bat, and Meyer & Verhoeven with the ball.

Ludlow made plenty of starts but never went on with them, as did Appleyard. Meyer was shocking with the Bat for a Resp, but i'll put that down to being the only decent bowler.

Groves took wickets, but he was far to expensive at the death, and he let a lot of teams go from a good, to outstanding total. Walton & Savage was ok through the middle overs, but they really need to take wickets next season (well Walton has to seeing as i'll be selling savage).

Hopefully all of the above will come true due to a move back to Div 5

Doesn't probably look like there are any major improvements but in expecting quite a few pops before the start of next season. With Ferrier, Clayton and Ellis all popping to Superb batting, Jeithoon to Superb bowling, Sishayi to Strong bowling and Quintin to Strong batting.

The batting order has some more depth now with the addition of Allison and all rounders Obeysekera and Sishayi. The bowling overall is stronger with Jeithoon coming along pretty well. Sishayi has added a bit to the bowling and Muralitharan keeps improving nicely.

I'm not going to buy in many players again next season and just back my trainee to keep the improvements comming. But i am looking to replace Nurse, as he is getting a bit too old and struggle against half decent attacks.

I think im about two seasons away from being ready to play Divison II in Sri Lanka, but if i look like a chance next season i might buy a Superb fast bowler and play Obeysekera as a specialist batsmen.

Don't know what it was start of the season but i'm not particularly impressed with my improvement. Islam to Remarkable is imminent. Norris is maybe a few weeks from quality bowling, Pearce a few from superb. Need to replace Lawrence and Keane pretty damn soon. Will probably give AKD a bowling net and get him up to strong(don't think he's that far from Prof as it is) since he seems to do a lot better than his skill suggests.

Seeming I Have 6 Trainees in there I wont be at my best until Season 7-8 when these players have been trained fully and will be able to represent the core of my team. This will enable me to build a bit of depth which if FC comes In I think is definetly needed.

Pops that are close Paris to Quality batting soon. Mee and Street to Strong Bowling. That's about it for a while.

Again, progress not so fantastic in terms of upgrades in levels. In my defence, I have 3m in the bank from sales of players so hopefully shall fill a couple of the gaps soon. Notably, need another bowler of a superb nature & another superb batsmen and I'll have another trainee batsman for next season to replace Prince King (stupid name).

Mamello still can't bowl because his fitness is a disgrace, 4 nets on a feeble appears to kill them slowly but surely. :p

Anyone got any thoughts about the Twenty20 yet? I'm thinking of playing either with no all-rounder (i.e. five bowlers who can't bat) or with the all-rounder and a keeper who can't bat but is significantly better than my usual keeper. I suppose stamina won't be an issue, so I'll probably go with a slightly better seamer (competent bowl, mediocre consistency and stamina) rather than my usual seamer (competent bowl, feeble consistency, respectable stamina). Batting wise I'll probably open with my best two bats (although one is defensive) and then just cue up my competent bats, with my only destructive player at three.

I guess it's just trial and error though.

Boycott's mum could bowl your middle order out. Get yer chequebook out.

PY

Boycott's mum could bowl out the Australian middle order along with every other in existence and still have time to have young Geoffrey's tea on the table by the time he got in from the mines.

But yeah, you have a point. It's been a big problem all year (which I've acknowledged) but prices are so inflated IMO for what worth I'd get out of them that I was just going to get a fourth good bat and leave it at that until I rebuilt my stash.

EDIT: By good, I mean superb or higher. Then get enough money back to buy another etc etc. Can afford one a season really.
