Ajmal's stats in a batting friendly era are incredible. Both in terms of economy and strike power. Whether they should count or not is a separate matter

But atleast Gayle averages 51 against Eng after scoring 1000+ runs against them and nearly 40 against two other major nations. Highest Imran averages against a non minnow team was 46 vs NZ, and below 40 above all else

Any statistical analysis will give some weird results. No need to take that seriously

You are looking at it the wrong way. These rankings are not definitive but they show general trends. How many 40 @ 80 openers have there been in the last 20 years? Imran had a better average and strike rate than many respectable batsmen like Border and Waugh. Sanga also was only ok for most of his career. His stats are only moderately better than Misbah. Stats can't capture a player's true worth because of team dynamics, how a batsman paces an innings and other factors that can't be accounted for but you are definitely either overrating Gayle or underrating Imran's batting.

Even Imran averaged below 30 for the 12 years of his 18 year ODI career
