All-Rounders XI

Engle

State Vice-Captain
Assume all have to bowl equally, make up a team of All-Rounders from each Test country, trying to slot them in the most appropriate position. The 'keeper has to be a good bat.

You forgot Nash. Open with Astle so that we can have others in the middle order. Andre Adams? Would you classify mcmillan as an allrounder if astle is one?

I guess its a test team but harris should still be considered given his amazing first class record.

So I went with

1.Astle
2.Mccullum (WK)
3.Styris
4.Mcmillan
5.Oram
6.Reid (where would he bat? im not sure)
7.Cairns
8. Vettori
9. Hadlee
10. Nash
11. Franklin

Pretty awesome team

Edit: oopps forgot lance cairns. Drop franklin then.

Good effort boys, some you could have considered; Archer, McLeod, Vievers, Eady, Trumble, Fairfax

Do you think they would be a better ODI team?

Hammond? ;) Probably for Sir Lord Ted.

I'd have Tate for Hirst too.

Would be an excellent odi team, but thats probably true for most allrounder Xi's. I think it would be a good test side too, Really Astle and mccullum would be a better test opening partnership than 90% of our history in test cricket.
