Turned around his son's fortunes as a batsman, IIRC.Word on the street says the former Surrey coach is close to landing a international coaching assignment with a fairly strong associate with ODI status. Whats the opinion of this guy's ability as a coach/team manager etc?
Cool. Might have more than a few batsmen in poor form where he is goingTurned around his son's fortunes as a batsman, IIRC.
.....................I seem to recall him making a one-off comeback a while ago (maybe even a decade now, he said betraying his own vintage) when Surrey were short. Went ok despite being closer to 50 than 40 if memory serves.
EDIT: 11 years and was 44 according to cricinfo. The recollection grows fainter as the years grow shorter, obv...
Well, I'd not go quite that far - Butcher M was always a fine player and had enjoyed some brief Test success at the time he had the famed working-with-Dad winter in 2000/01. However, he ironed-out new faults that had crept into his game and removed older ones during that spell, and he enjoyed his most productive Test years (2001-2004) thereafter. But it's not like Alan turned him from hopeless to brilliant.Turned around his son's fortunes as a batsman, IIRC.
What you said. Maybe he'll teach them to leave balls outside off stump.Cool. Might have more than a few batsmen in poor form where he is going
From what I remember, he spent more time in the tusker tent than coaching the team, despite the success they had thenAnd to think surrey sacked him and he could be kenyas' new coach ,gone down a long way since the days they had sendeep patil as a coach.
