5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

Molehill

Absolutely gutting to be honest.

Can't pretend for a second that India didn't deserve at least a drawn series though.
Yeah, there were 2 fifty fifty Tests which could've gone either way and ended up being shared. Both sides had injury issues and neither were at their best. But it produced a great series.

But with hindsight, England's refusal to attempt to bat out a day on a road at Edgbaston just stinks (nearly as much as the team selection at The Oval). India managed it comfortably at OT, it would've been no harder in Brum.

Siraj is the people's champion for this series. Most entertaining cricketer throughout, whether taking wickets, getting into fights, dropping catches or getting bowled off the middle of the bat. Played all 5 Tests bowling full tilt, the only quick bowler on either side to survive. Played a key role in both of India's victories. Proper hero.

Of course he does. But blaming him for the loss is extremely illogical
it's kind of that ironic thing that happens to guys who perform well but don't get over the line in a tight loss - if brook was caught on the rope first session yesterday by siraj the narrative's all about india's great bowling and dominant win on day four, but because of england getting so close due to brook, and brook getting out playing goober ball, people will say it's on him. curious thing you see in cricket eh
