Many (not all) cricket followers think the 4 best ODI batsmen of all time are Viv, Sachin, ABDV, and Kohli. For the point of this voting exercise that is being assumed. Who do you think is 5th best?

Kane Williamson is the joke option, right?
No,Michael Bevan is the joke option.
Just joking! He'd get my vote.

I probably could've put Symonds, Clarke, and/or Hayden in there too, but there are already too many Aussies. Perhaps Bairstow too.

Anyway, Kane was player of the 2019 CWC ahead of a number of players from that list.

Ponting for me , ticks all the boxes I'm looking for:

Longevity - 13K runs
Success - 3 time ODI World Cup Winner
Big match player - Probably the best ODI innings ever played in a Final - 140* vs India 03

Gilchrist knock was better in 07 against a far better bowling attack.
I think it’s more about how it killed the game before there was one. A 280 type score and Sehwag and Sachin are in the game big time if they take off early like Sachin did vs Pakistan earlier (yes it’s a final, more pressure etc), but this was basically done.
No team is chasing that score in a final.
His innings was the difference in that.

And in 07 , Aus had scored 280 in 38 overs iirc.
