Hope this puts to rest some of the FTB comments that were creeping up. Gill has negotiated some really tricky passages this innings.

Only half the job done here. Long long way to go.

Hope I don't jinx this but when Stokes isn't bowling, Indian batters find it relatively easy to negotiate others in this England bowling attack

As I said before he has transformed himself from a flashy test opener to a gritty no.4 test captain, he is an upgrade on Kohli from his last few years.

Gill is playing it brilliantly but a new batsman will find it really hard to start, especially a right hander.
