Well it puts India in a better position than they currently are. India need to win this game and they'll take any extra runs that come their way. A 400-450 1st innings total would've put India in a commanding position.

This is still a good total but I think we could've really put England on the backfoot with more runs on the board.

We'll wait and see how this new ball spell goes which will be crucial.

Well yeah 450 would have been better, 450 being a larger number than 350 and all. That doesn't mean that India are in trouble or anything having merely put on the latter.
