Pant advised 6 weeks rest, BCCI exploring the possibility of painkillers to enable him to bat but admit it’s unlikely, meanwhile Ishan Kishan has been added to the squad according to the Indian Express

From what I saw yesterday, both Archer and Carse definitely didn't get the lengths right. Woakes didn't bowl well in his first few overs but was good after that. Dawson bowled as I thought he would, with intelligence and control. No finger spinner is going to rag the ball square, and I'm not convinced he puts too many revs on the ball, but is smart enough to at least make a batsman think in these conditions.

Which would be utterly stupid. Sometimes unlucky **** like this happens, but don't make it worse.

Slightly surprised they've added another keeper batsman for one Test, is KL unable to keep if really needed?

Opening and keeping would be a big ask.

As Stefan says, opening and keeping is a big ask, I guess they aren’t keen on Jurel as a keeper if they’re picking someone else

Or they've had that much bad luck they thought they better call up a backup to Jurel in-case he injures himself too!

Sucks for Pant and for the rest of the series, love watching him bat, game needs entertainers like him.

Very good start from Archer. Outside edge of Jadeja, beats the inside edge of Thakur and then takes the outside edge. Unlucky not to pick a wicket up

Crawley and Duckett not gonna fancy facing up to Bumrah at the minute with it zipping around like it is, gonna be a nightmare

"With no official word yet from the BCCI, team sources have indicated that the management is already exploring replacement options"

So BCCI as always will be last to confirm anything. (all information so far has come out via "sources")
