As I stated before the tournament started that this has to be the worst SA side ever going into a world cup, and they are living up to their reputation.

Yeah, SL should have everyone's thanks for rolling over England and providing the group stage with some actual tension, but they're still a trash team. Then again, South Africa are playing like one too. Rabada, in particular, looks like he'd rather be just about anywhere else on the planet. Still reckon SA will win.

Grab the 1.5 odd on SA with both hands. They are a much better side than SL. How much? very much. SL has played good cricket for only 50 overs in this tournament (2nd innings against England). Other than that they have just collected rain points and about matched Afghanistan in the match-up. Yes SA haven't done much either but this is about time. Guys like Rabada will be angry going into this match. Very angry.

A SL loss here should see them out of the tourney given their max 10 points and 4 wins would not be enough for 4th (plus they're unlikely to beat India so would only have 8 pts anyway)

10 points could be enough for 4th:

England loses both remaining games - 8 points
Pakistan loses to Bangladesh - maximum 9 points
Bangladesh loses to India - maximum 9 points

But yeah, SL have absolutely no show of beating India, so this is a must-win for them.

What difference does it make whether Aus lose to SA in the final group match... still going to go on and win the cup.

The bookies strongly disagree. I've put 20 on SL

Batting(the openers) and bowling(Malinga obv) both showed promise in their last two games, though they haven't clicked in the same game yet, it's inevitable that they will

Don't forget SA smashed SL 5-0 in the ODI series just before the cup.

That said, we've been awful so I wouldn't put it past us to throw this one away.

I'll be annoyed if SA win here (which they should, as they're comfortably the better side). Having half-arsed their way through the entire tournament, it'd be disappointing to see them get a meaningless win and put SL out of the tournament, who for all their limitations, have shown much more fortitude.
