Continuing to pick and bowl Bashir should be declared a war crime. They should be tried at The Hague
There are so many who deserve a chance. The English posters would know better but I think Leach Dawson Hartley etc have all done better at international level.

Excellent idea.
When they bring Bashir as a whitness, he can play for my Saturday Afternoon Social League Team, which is only 10 minutes (by bicycle, as we do here) from the ICC.

England are waving the white flag with Brook bowling, I bowled better than him in the nets and I was an opener that hardly ever bowled.

Bizarre bringing Brook on
It wouldn't be the first time a set batsman, having his eye lids wide open, smacks the ball to a fielder on the boundary. Worth a try, given the situation, I guess.

Edit: not sure he should have another, though.

Highest score by an Indian batsman in England :

Shubman Gill - 224* Birmingham 2025
Sunil Gavaskar- 221 Oval 1979
Rahul Dravid- 217 Oval 2002

Washy is such an underrated batter

This is exactly what we needed. Someone to hang in there, suffocate England by playing a Pujara type innings. We have too many strokemakers in the side but very few batsmen with old school test match temperament. The collapse wouldn't have happened if Washy played the first test IMO

Yeah. He can always get a good cherry or just be unlucky but you can rest easy he'll fight it out in the middle. Just a good vibes player to have in the side.
