“Universally Challenged” Draft Idea

Eyes not spreadsheets
Just a thought, but if the last round is going to be a free for all how about making it slightly different by upping the criteria for that pick to significantly increase the minimum number of Tests played - was thinking something like 50
To be honest I'd be against this as it is a bit late in the day to change thinking (especially as my remaining targets have all played a lot less than 50!)

Interesting idea! I'm slightly reluctant to change the rules so late into the draft, but if other players would like to express their support for this idea, I'm more than happy for democracy to rule...

It's a rule change that could give an unfair advantage to someone who needs a middle order bat to fill their final spot as opposed to a spinner, for example

Also, a few players with over 50 Tests have already been selected, such as Ashraful and Gregory. So would the participants who already have a player with 50+ Tests in their side be exempt from this round 11 rule or not? In other words, would the rule be:

  • All teams must include at least one player who played 50+ Tests, or
  • Only players who played 50+ Tests are eligible for selection in round 11.

Personally I think this idea is more trouble than it is worth, but happy to be overruled if the consensus is in favour.
