Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
Grade cricket is around for teams that are having a bye, or those players who aren't selected in a side for that round. It means that even when you aren't playing for your actual First Class side or List-A side, you still get a game. The stats, however, don't go toward your First Class or List-A averages, just like in real life. So although you hit an 88, it doesn't mean your batting average or rating will rise, unfortunately.

Cricketer Of The Year
Well, the sims that we use (HODI, ITC) require a batting & bowling average ("Simming averages". ITC actually uses bowling strike rates and economy rates). As a rookie, Liam assigns you a simming average for batting and bowling based on your signup form (he does adjust it to make it realistic) and after a 30 matches or something your career averages will become your simming average. Grade cricket doesn't affect your simming average/rating at all.
