Well, many say Jones might not be able to bowl long test spells. That's a fair arguement, I guess. About Hoggard: I thought it was silly to drop him in New Zealand. I guess all agreed it was time for Harmison to go, but Hoggard? Nah. It totally bugs me why he wasn't called to replace Sidebottom...

I agree with that. Though the funny thing is that Broad's recent batting figures are better than Collingwood's. So, maybe England should play the flat pitch option anyway. There is no reason to kick either Sidebottom or Anderson out of the XI. Otherwise, England has a few decent fast bowling...

Actually, Norway is good at speed skating, ski jumping and cross country ski. And I would like to recall the FIFA WC 1994 qualification. BTW, here's a full list of ALL Norwegian cricketers known at cricinfo: Aamer Waheed (Aamer Waheed, 1972- ) Abdul Hadi (Abdul Hadi, 1973- ) Adeel Ibrar (Adeel...

No, however, I'm one of the best 2000 Dutch cricketers  . But that's only because there are only 2000 Dutch cricketers  . Anyway, I got married 3 weeks ago, and I persuated my wife to go to Barbados for our honeymoon. Actually, I didn't need any persuation for that. I only need to...

Not sure about that. If you have a 4-man attack, requiring one of the batsmen to be a decent stock bowler, is not such a bad idea, I reckon. And if this batsman/stockbowler is the best fielder in the world, he suddenly becomes quite useful.

Well, the first 50 partnership and the ball after the first individual 50 of the day. I've got the impression both batsmen have increased their strike rates a little. If Pietersen & Ambrose can hold out a little longer, this match can easily turn right back to England again; 70-run partnership now.

Who cares if 84/2 at lunch is a good score for whatever side. It's 85/4 now and that's not good for England!

Really? I happen to travel to Bridgetown Barbados, next sunday :) . What a coincidence  .

From various resources, I'm told to expect relatively few runs at Trent Bridge this test. This season's first innings high-score appears to be 279, whereas the average is 197. From that perspective, 84/2 at lunch is a decent score from the view of the batting side.

Cricinfo has changed it's commentary from "Can England win?" to "Will England beat tea?" Apparently, tea cannot be delayed, the say... Will tea really be taken if there would be one run needed????

I suddenly remember the Aussie top4 falling for only 12 runs, with a new ball..... Maybe, just maybe......, NZ has a chance here :) !

Even England cannot screw this up now. And the new ball won't change that!

A WI win would really really be super. I guess I have to tell mrs. Stapel I will be in a pub tonight......., again....... Two in a row, actually. Yeah that really changes the feeling of the occasion a bit!

I can see Bell, Collingwood and Ambrose all fall for single digit scores, but Broad and Sidebottom saving the match. This is one hell of a match! And when it's over, we have Aus-WI as desert! Or Anderson, or Collingwood?

Hmmm, I don't see any team making 400. However, if there is one team in the world that can do it, you'ld say it is Australia. What is that highest succesful test run chase. Isn't that about 400?

I've never thought the cricinfo commentary was unbiased, but one really HAS to believe the Windies have tons of luck. Oh, Steulen, btw: which club do you play for?

So far, it's a very decent start by Ganga and Ramdin: 50 up for no loss. It's game on! To be honoust, I did expect the Windies openers to fall with old-fashion-style ease. Good to see this. Though one can't deny they're a bit lucky, if I have to believe cricinfo.

Hmmm, 78 runs is just a tat bit too much, to make this a really tight test. A lot depends on how well the Windies keep their batting act together. Gayle is out? Why's that? And why not put Chanderpaul out there as an opener?
