    ***Official*** South Africa In Australia

Unbelievable! I got up around 7 am, just to take a leak. I quickly took a brief walk to my PC, to check the score on cricinfo. 450-9, my PC told me. And then I saw Duminy calls Ntini through for a single, so Ntini keeps the strike..... That´s adding insult to injury. What was Steyn´s innings...

I´d say this test is, once again, set up beautifully after one day!

When did the Aussies lose a home series for the last time?

I should admit I rate excitement as a very important element in the qualification of a "good test".

I've been wondering about that too. For quite some time now. I always figured the Aussies, apparantly, had a big bowlers pond to fish in. Not that sure about that now. Dropping a fit Prince seems out of the question, I believe. I'm not 100% sure Neil McKenzie's spot is cemented in. I don't...

Worst batsman ever to score a Test match 100

I don't think Bravo was ever on the way out. He just turned 25 and I think he is improving! Bravo wouldn't look bad in most test sides as a #6.

Yeah, that was pointless form the start. I'm a bit surprised about the commentary. This wasn't a bad test. To bad it had slipped into a draw, mostly due to the weather. It's my opinion that poor weather will always be the greatest factor in spoiling a test. A draw after 450 overs is simply...

I think it is fair to say that was an exceptional innings and the start of the very best test ever.

To be fair, Flintoff hasn´t looked that good with bat, since his return. Good to see him reach 50. His first in nearly two years!

:) There is something about having Pietersen and Frintoff in the middle. I have been looking forward to watching these two men perfroming together, for a while now. I think it's a good thing to have him back: Flintoff the batsman! 100 run partnership. Well done. If these two can survive this...

I remember the 3rd test of the 2006-7 ashes were both Aus&Eng were bowled out for around 250 in their 1st innings.... Hard to compare, of course, but I would be surprised if SA score 500 here.

Well well, the 9th wicket falls with the last ball of the day. This 38-runs-9th-wicket partnership might prove to be important! This match is set up wonderfully! Is 350 really below par here? It certainly is not when Hayden, Ponting and Hussey are out for 12 runs between them :) . Can't wait to...

A great test, but nonetheless a disapointing last day, imho. For a great 5th day in a great test, you simply need two great teams. And England were not today. Imho, it was personified by Monty.... Long before this test started, I was looking forward to see Monty bowl on a 5th day pitch in India...

Strauss is on his way to earn the man of the match award. Quite impressive. I didn't see the drop. But anyway, he makes the most of it, not? If these two take the lead past 200, it's hard to see England lose this test.

    4000 test runs for Strauss!

I think I agree. However, what if Swann takes a load of wickets? Would Broad still replace him, would it cost Anderson his place, or would it be tough luck for Stuart?

End of Quota system in SA??

I once gave my firm opinion on the quota system to a South African, here in NL. He pretty much corrected me and persuated me it wasn't all that bad. I guess it is fair to say it was a horrible medicine, but did have its postitive effects too. Anyway, it seems about right to give it up now.

    Should Haddin Be Dropped

Well, We cannot expect a new Gilchrist to emerge every decade, right? I'm confident Haddin can be a new Boucher though. Fair enough, I guess.
