How big should the lead be, to make the odss 50/50? About 250? What are the Edgbaston 4th innings statistics?

Reading the cricinfo commentary, Vaughan is looking really good. Is that correct? Anyway, England's,batting line up might not be as bad as many point out. Of course, Collingwood's in terrible form and Vaughans struggles, but even then, England has still quite some batters left to make a decent...

Flintoff is the one and only reason I got dragged back into cricket in 2005, after having missed it since the BBC stopped broadcasting cricket. It was quite good to see once again why that was. This reminded me of the 2005 ashes over where he started on a hattrick, just missed it, but went on...

I'm quite short on news from the subcontinent, so maybe my question has an obvious answer. Where is Malinga anyway?

Not sure about that. If England go into their 2nd innings trailing less than 100 runs, the bowlers have arguably doen their thing. Today, the England attack might not play to win, but most defenitely have a chance to save the match. That said, I'm still hoping for a fired up Flintoff bowling...

Flintoff & Ambrose really taking it easy now. England really need a more than decent partnership from these two.

Collingwood off the mark after 16 balls. It would be great to see him building up an innings in good old fashioned test style.

Strauss did ok when he was captain in 2006, right?

Well, they are on their way to a decent partnership, but according to cricinfo they do not look that safe. Anyway, after this partnership, England have 3 batsmen that all 3 have to prove a point with the bat. England have opportunities to bat themselves out of any kind of trouble.

Cricinfo sucks a bit now. -Why did Strauss step on his castle? Cramped for room? Just being stupid? What??? -Did Vaughan nick it or not?

I always get the idea Kallis has been underused as a bowler. I'm not sure about this: How often did he bowl in the beginning of his test career? Another point: Kallis' batting average is nearly double his bowling average (56.28 & 31.51). Flintoff's batting average are roughly the same (32.41 &...

TBH, that was in a 5-men bowling attack. Anyway, Freddy batting on 6 or 7...,or 8, I really doubt that will be the key to what is going to be decisive for this match.

I hardly got a chance to watch a thing of the first two tests and got most of my info from BBC and/or cricinfo. I had the impression Broad bowled some good spells but got a bit unlucky not to take more wickets. Is there at least some truth in this?

I agree there are no reasons to drop him now. However, Anderson has quite a history of not living up to expectations. Maybe you are right. Possibly Anderson was brought into the test arena too soon, too young. This year, he's indeed doing fine.
