Wow, 42 of Cook's 50 are from boundaries!

That was not the easiest slip chance. The ball really dipped on him.

There is quite a difference between a defensive field and a field set for bad bowling. There is nothing wrong with plugging a few holes! Drying up runs simply is a way to put pressure on batsmen and thus to get wickets. Test cricket is a patience game Must say the 3d over was a bit early though.

A fair point! Still makes me wonder where Praveen i s though. Injured?

I was simply having a look at India's fast bowler's stats. I knew Zaheer is closing in on his 300th wicket, but I can't help but notice his average is a bit disappointing. Of all bowlers with that amount of wickets, only Harbhajan has a poorer average. And I actually rate the guy! Sharma's...

Nah, 4 or 5. Cowan, Warner, Watson, Ponting and a nightwatchman.

I've been proven wrong! The Aussies actually can take 20 wickets!

I see, My point is not whether Monty should or should not be in whatever list, based on any hypothetical performances. Any half decent, somewhat neutral, statistical list has no Monty in it, as he hardly plays any tests. Simple as that. Yet, if I had to make a world top 5 for spinners, based on...

Hmmm, Amla wouldn't go for that shot in a somewhat more tense situation, would he?

Thanks for clearing my thoughts! Indeed what my point is! Not bad for a person who ranks an overrated wicketkeeper ;) .

Indeed! Since England have Anderson, Finn, Broad, Bresnan, Onions, Tremlett & a few uncapped talented quicks, there is no need to prepare a turner either. To keep this thread on topic a bit more. Considering (at least for the sake of arguement) England have better spinners than India have, are...

The World Has Forgotten How To Bat

I tend to agree, yet there is a very strong arguement against a part of your post. The England horror year against spin was about Strauss, Cook, Trott, Bell, and Prior. Arguably not about Pietersen and his two masterclasses. Yet, these players are hardly involved in T20s.....

The World Has Forgotten How To Bat

I think a lot has changed by how we watch cricket. Even the most T20-hating and test-loving cricket fan has probably been influenced by fast run scoring. Furthermore, it seems to be planted in the watcher's mind that openers not only must be fast scoring, but also must be top scorers. Whereas...

Like most of us, I don't give a rat's arse about official ranking lists. Monty is nowhere near this top ten, and rightly so. Yet, would he have been an Indian (let's not get started about a discussion he actually is), or a Pakistani or a Sri Lankan, he very well might be. Is it a totally...

Obviously it is a bit easy to combine both your arguements and fight debate them as if they cam form the same poster, but still...., here I go. IMHO, the SA 225 all-out was nothing but an accident. Sometimes, not-so-great bowlers bowl super spells. Sometimes great batting line-ups get out for...
