I seriously don't know what you mean here..... Spelling? Or what?

It's ancient Dutch for "The Cook".

Not sure he needs to do so. There's not much wrong in playing second fiddle to CHG!

I guess Ian Botham is a likeable fellow, even when he speaks nonsense. I've always been surprised by his relatively poor judgement, or even understanding, of bowling tactics, for a guy that has so many international wickets.

Holding is missing in that list! Come on mods, get him in the list please! Hussain, Atherton & Holding for me, today. Benaud is missed.

Nobody interested in this tourney, or what? Should be some good cricket!

    Arthur sacked

Really? This happens with sports teams everywhere in the world. If I understand things correctly, Arthur's succesful approach was (partly? mainly?) due to discipline. That works alright with younger players, but not with senior players.

    Arthur sacked

I have to disagree here. Clarke aside, England have better players on any position. I can't be arsed who wins the Ashes, as long as I can watch some good cricket. But I think these series are the least anticipated Ashes since 2003.

    Arthur sacked

So what has changed recently? IMHO, Arthur had proven his severe loss of grip on the team, when his vice captain did not return his homework in time. That was farcical. A coach that does not have the respect of important senior players, cannot function properly. Doesn't matter how good a coach...

    Final - England v India

I guess I should be looking for an alternative sunday afternoon activity.... I can't see a window for 40 overs today.

Whatevers happens form here on, this partnership has given Australia an unexpected asset of immense value: Doherty and McKay to be selected as specialist batsmen for The Ashes :D .

I reckon the Lankans are getting nervous now.

Voges just figured he could get his fifty with a six. That's it really. I know..., not going to happen.

Both Doherty and McKay have first class fifties to their names....... Who knows.... I know..., not going to happen.

Imagine this scenario: scores level with one wicket in hand. SL appeal for LBW; batsmen take leg bye; umpires gives it out; appears dodgy; Aus do have a review; don't use it as they can't be arsed; SL go through.......

There is no form of pressure whatsoever, from an Australian point of view. That might change things a bit, I guess.

Same for me. Missed the original during my personal drinks break. I play cricket at the lowest level imaginable....., yet have not encountered such a thing.

Indeed. At some point it became a real brain cracker. Once I got it, I really felt lame.

    **Official** Group A Discussion

It's mostly because I started watching cricket completely on my own in the early 90s (BBC at the time), without knowing a single person to actually play the game. No internet either...
