We haven't lost against Fidge since, well, ever. Honestly how bad do things have to get before the RFU realises they've dropped a bollock with Borthwick? 17-8 doesn't flatter the Fijians either.

    2023 FIFA Women's World Cup

Apparently trying to do the decent thing too. FIFA on the right side of history? I mean, I've always assumed they had procedures & regulations in place to make sure that never happened.

Didn't see the game, but that's a paddlin'. Can't honestly recall the ABs going down by 4 scores ever.

I mean, if the kiss wasn't welcome (and judging by the furore I'm guessing it wasn't), isn't it ***ual assault?

    **Official** English Football Season 2023/24

I must've missed the bit where England was doing well under Dutch Schteve.

    2023 FIFA Women's World Cup

Yeah, I could try and claim i meant the near miss in 02 qualifying (lost on agg to U-r-guay after winning the first leg, IIRC) had a galvanising effect and set Oz on the path to reversing the result four years later, but that'd be cobblers; I was simply a world cup out.

    2023 FIFA Women's World Cup

I mean, all due respect and all, but it was very clearly the 2002 WC and the cunning relocation to Asia that really got the round ball rolling. Pretty sure yer Socceroos haven't missed a WC since then whereas after 74 they had to wait until (hey!) 2002 for another go.

    **Official** English Football Season 2023/24

Well the fact they're sounding out their women's squad as to "how they feel" about his reinstatement shows they're minded to. Massive failure of moral fortitude. I mean, yeah, innocent until proven, etc. However I'm sure we've all heard the audio his ex-girlfriend leaked online by now and it's...

    2023 FIFA Women's World Cup

Oh yeah, hence my disclaimer. But it was one of "those" moments (and as an English footy fan I know all too well what they feel like); genuinely thought it was 2-2 when it fell to her. The high premium football has on goals means means a moment of brilliance can counter a half (or two) of...

Don't wanna pile in on her, but that one just before Russo's clincher was a bit of a Barry Crocker. Unmarked, six yards out and skies it. I'd be holding her to a lower standard than I would a male footballer not to say her arse went.

Christ, that's such horse plop. He didn't even attempt to use his arms. With his history he should've got 2 or 3 games at least.

Pool A - New Zealand, France, Italy, Uruguay, Namibia

Definitely the group least likely to produce a shock. ABs and les bleus through or your money back.

Pool D - England, Argentina, Japan, Samoa, Chile

The stars really aligned for us in 2007, didn't they? Argentina beat les bleus in the first group game, meaning Johnny Frog met NZ in the quarters and produced one of their typically flaky genius performances to beat them (aided by Wayne Barnes unilaterally deciding not to enforce the forward...

Pool B - South Africa, Ireland, Scotland, Tonga, Romania

Ah what we're contractually obliged to call the Group of Death™. Rough draw for the Sweaties, who I'd take to beat us about seven times out of ten right now. Tempting to say it's a straight shoot out between them and yer Micks for second place, but I'd say RSA/Ireland is a 50/50 call right now.

He hasn't; he's not even an especially good boxer. What he has got is an engine and the most concussive punch I think I've seen, certainly since Foreman 2.0. I mean he knocked down Fury, what, four times (?) in their trilogy and he (Fury) has a chin and movement AJ can only dream of. If...

Genuinely think Wilder retires Joshua at this point. Got a puncher's chance, but if Deontay tags him it's red rover for the big fella. Wilder/Usyk or Fury/Usyk the most credible match ups, stating the bleedin' obvious as I am.

Clear pen, but rough on the Sweaties.

Well I wouldn't normally be putting up the bunting for England beating a shithouse second string Leekist team, but we are where we are.

England probably looked better without Owenaro. Good practice for the next two or three tests, cos he's copping a ban for that "tackle".
