    Mark Wood 150kph bowler

It pretty much already hasn't. He debuted all of 8 years ago now and has only played in 28 tests since 2015. Not all down to injuries but they haven't helped. Funny you mention his body though, because he definitely doesn't fit the fast bowler's archetype. He's not especially tall and is on...

*Official* Third Test (Headingley, Leeds) 6–10 July

Ashwin's probably a bit quicker, tbf.

Leading wicket taker on either side, so he'd probably explode if he was dropped now.

Don't blame him. Middlesbrough is only about an hour up the A1(M) from Leeds.

If the fourth was anywhere but OT I'd say I couldn't see Jimmeh coming back, but as it is... Not sure Mo has done enough to justify the love, either. Can't see us going in without a specialist twirler so Anderson for Robinson might be the only change we see.

    Bairstow Dismissal

Can officially said to have reached peak "Bairstow's dismissal". The Raiders' rake completely failing to effect the stumping too.

    *Official* World Cup Qualifiers 2023

Pretty sure he's already played for them, hasn't he? Was in their T20 WC squad last year? Playing for an associate doesn't affect his eligibility for NZ either, no it's effectively a free hit for him.

    *Official* World Cup Qualifiers 2023

Only speaking as an outsider looking in, but the knock in the People's Republic of Brit is that cricket in the Netherlands is more or less completely concentrated around The Hague.

Wow. Hats off to the old Tulip Munchers. MOTM a tough call though...

Michelle for Bas; not the worst hat-trick ball either. Sad to think he's likely to be the last Dutchman playing county cricket thanks to Brexit. Sigh. Have to credit to the Dutch in the last ten; given themselves a shot after looking gone at about 37 overs.

Bugger. Played young man. The Sporraned Saffers have really dug Ecosse out of a hole here.

Saffer by birth, isn't he? Like the cut of his jib; think some counties might come sniffing around after his tournament.

    **Official** English Football Season 2023/24

Interesting to look back at the last time we made the final. Few big Prem names in England's team: Micah Richards, Kieran Gibbs, Milner, Walcott, Mark Noble and, um, Adam Johnson; Jerry's team though looks to have formed the basis of their WC winning squad in 2014: Ozil, Neuer, Boateng...

Not enough proper, old school ***ism, IMHO.

Fair play to the Sweaties. All the more impressive that they've done it without the services of Michael Jones & Josh Davey, who both took the Blast shilling over national duty. Not that I blame them, obviously more money in it. That said, arseing it up against the Dutch would be the most...

    Bairstow Dismissal

    Yeah, seriously doubt that.

    Bairstow Dismissal

Pretty much how I feel about it. Aussies didn't cheat, but it felt a little cheap. Speaking of which, possibly the thing that aggrieves me most is that Green gets credited with a wicket. We've all seen bowlers get spawny wickets with tripe, but this felt as if it was literally eff all to do...

    Bairstow Dismissal

Um, Jonny...? "Hypocrisy" is such an ugly word, let's call it pharisaism.

What's Michael Vaughan said? I think the opposite.

    Worst Selections of All Time

Ronnie Irani's recall for the 4th (and deciding) test of NZ's tour of 1999 (AKA the year England hit the bottom of the test rankings) after over thirty six months since he'd last underwhelmed in the gold standard format was, at best, an optimistic shout, and smacked of a) desperation; & b) being...
