    *Official* Second Test at Lord's - Aug 12-16 2021

Rahul just didn't go forward or back. Was very leave-able.

Your highest score / best figures?

Best bowling was first ever senior game against adults, third grade, (school second xi age 14), 5-14 . Also top scored 21*. Downhill from there... barely bowled again. HIghest score was in second grade, 89, given lbw to one that wouldn't have hit a second set of stumps. Highest in first...

*Official* Bangladesh in Zimbabwe 2021 (full tour)

It's hard to know. Taylor averages 60-odd against Bangladesh and 24 against everyone else. Because he only ever seems to play Bangladesh, it may be he's actually really good but we'll never know, or it may be the 24 is the truer number...

*Official* Bangladesh in Zimbabwe 2021 (full tour)

An over from Ebadot there might be the worst I've ever seen in test cricket. Bowling at a number 10 and number 8, 5 balls well outside leg stump and the other a waist high full toss outside off...

OR... a couple of gifts and a bit of reverse will do the trick...

*Official* Bangladesh in Zimbabwe 2021 (full tour)

This pitch looks very very flat. Zimbabwe have a pretty good chance of surviving with Bangladesh having just two likely threats.

*Official* Bangladesh in Zimbabwe 2021 (full tour)

England played a test with all of Stokes, Broad, Anderson and Finn, plus Moeen. So their entire bowling line up were right armers who batted left handed. Hadlee will always be the ultimate here.

*Official* Bangladesh in Zimbabwe 2021 (full tour)

Nice to see Zimbabwe are maintaining that steady 12 overs per hour rate today as well... God forbid we get close to 90 overs in a day.

*Official* Bangladesh in Zimbabwe 2021 (full tour)

Well the Bangladesh side looks a bowler short, and no Abu Jayed is just weird, but I suspect they've got enough runs now to ensure a hefty first innings lead and that should be it. Zimbabwe are just scraping the barrel currently. When you think their top 7 could be something like Kasuza...

Would be a heck of a wagon wheel for Mominul. Pretty much everything from midwicket to fine-leg.

*Official* New Zealand in England 2021

Anyone worried about Watling? Since his double ton he's averaged about 20 with the bat, and that was a pretty awful miss last night. Can't be doing that if someone like Kohli shows up with a weakness against bog-standard left arm spin as has happened in the past...

*Official* New Zealand in England 2021

Great shot, he's been waiting for 20 or 30 balls for one to drive, and when one came along he put it away with so little fuss. Good 50, may it be the first of very many....

*Official* New Zealand in England 2021

I can't think of many batsmen I've ever seen who average(d) 45+ who have looked as bad as Taylor does from time to time...

    Dennis Compton vs KF Barrington

Barrington if you need a number 3, Compton if you want a 4 or 5. Barrington, Hammond, Compton is a reasonable pick for the all time England xi's middle order...

    Seamers with 50+ wickets @ sub-25 average

Nice list. Hogg should have been an obvious name when I posed the question given his first series. Gregory and Voce would have been pre-WW2 so not in range. Some interesting names : I had forgotten the likes of Streak and Lawson has such good starts to their career.

    Seamers with 50+ wickets @ sub-25 average

I was wondering how many seamers would have hit the 50 wicket threshold with a sub 25 average, and then had their average climb over that mark as their careers went on, but couldn't be bothered trying to figure out how to find them... Botham would be one, Brett Lee another I think?

    Seamers with 50+ wickets @ sub-25 average

With Hasan Ali's recent effort against Zimbabwe, it struck me that Pakistan have had quite a few bowlers reach the above landmark. Considering only players who played the majority of their cricket post-WW2, to compare with Pakistan's time in test cricket: Australia (10) - Clark, Cummins...

*Official* Sri Lanka’s Tour of the West Indies-2021- All Format

I think we need a new approach to injuries. Just stretcher them off straight away. Fielders or batsmen.. If they recover they can come back. Sick of seeing time wasted, eg, when a short leg fielder gets hit. Just go off and get a sub on....

*Official* Afghanistan vs Zimbabwe in UAE 2021

Two questions : a) I can't keep up with Zimbabwe these days - are Taylor, Ervine, Jarvis, Moor and Chatara injured/retired/out of favour? b) what cricket have players from either side played in the past 6 months or so? I'm amazed either team is able to field a team in light of world events...
