*Official* West Indies Tour of England 2020

Considering Broad would be the right horse for this course, the whole decision seems odd, anyway. Same with batting first. Is that Stokes' decison? It formally is, but you'ld expect team management to have a better plan. Ergo: English team management is quite silly.

Not one English fielder looked convinced Brathwaite had knicked that with his bat, yet Stokes went upstairs. Or do I read those faces differently?

Agreed. I've always felt that 10, rather than 2 reviews, would suit the Test game better anyway. For the simple reason that taking the right decision is not an easy job to do. I think todays wrong decisions were tough ones to make. Even the Burns one. It's not like it would hit the middle stump...

Nice from Marnis. But..... If #4 makes a run-a-ball 100, a team total of 250 seems mediocre.

He faced only 8 balls in the 5 overs after his fifty. Maybe that made him lose his momentum? Not sure it was for lack of trying.

This. I have no idea if any board protested months ago, and in what way. If they simply signed on, without protesting.... That would be sad and dumb.

Ah, then I misunderstood what you said. Are there any young all-rounders knocking at the Indian selection door?

Of all Indian bowlers that have bowled the full quota of 30 overs, he is the only one to have bowled a maiden. Top series for him!

I didn't really follow Indian selecting procedures, but......, nobody thinks so, right? Neither Shardul nor Saini is an all-rounder. Not even bowlers that can hold a bat, though that is quite relative. Maybe Shardul is 'not the worst guy to have at 9', since he can swing the bat a bit. If these...

Having the right professional sports fysiologic specialists can make a hell of a difference. I have no clue where Mark Wood is in this. Who knows? Once upon a time Jos Buttler was selected for his batting. In this series, he has kept all matches, not? So let's judge him that way. If either...

Can I suggest a day or two enjoying cricket in the Hollies Stand at Edgbaston?

I've been surprised many times over the years on the selection of wicket keepers. The discussion seems to be on batting, more than on keeping. Rating keepers, just on their keeping skills, is hard, I guess. The simple question is: Who is England's best keeper?

Might have something to do with (finally) having a proper fast fast bowler, rather than millions of fast-medium swingers, losing him due to various injuries, getting him back, and still looking fast and promising. Let those poms be happy about it!

I'm not sure that boundary by Faf was a thick edge, or steered to 3rd man. Anyway, with 250+ runs to play with, and an innings to bat if needed, there could (or should) be more hands behind the wicket, when Wood is bowling, not?

Broad in at eleven. Obviously not the batsman he once was, but: when was the last time we saw a centerion coming in at 11? If Broad walks in today, that is.....

I had checked the score when India were at 100-odd/1. A fews hours later, Aus need 120 runs at 4 per over, with 10 wickets in hand. And I was looking forward to watch the last two hours of a tight game........

I would like to think Labuschagne is a French name. Why not simply pronounce it the French way? Just like the French say champagne. As with many francophone surnames in either Holland or SA (most coming form the same influx of huegenots), they seem to be randomly pronounced either French or...
