    ***Official*** 1st Test at Brisbane

England deteriorated (albeit with one bad decision thrown in) and the Aussies, as they always do, were skilled enough and gritty enough to take advantage. This was probably England's best chance of winning a test.

He even has the blue logo at the front haha

    ***Official*** 1st Test at Brisbane

I do not think the pressure was "immense" in terms of the state of the series. This is the first test in a series where the fragility of batting from both sides is well known. The bowling England have is another issue, where Root only expects his men to take wickets in the field, with little to...

    ***Official*** 1st Test at Brisbane

Smith's truly is an inspirational story, from teenage warne-esque sensation to bit part player, to being dropped, to lower order ODI batsman to test stalwart...all that and his overall, cross format numbers and performances are starting to verge on the great. Good on him!

    ***Official*** 1st Test at Brisbane

Havent had a chance to watch any of the tests so far but looking at the scorecard it's gone pretty much the way many expected, poor batting on both sides with some decent bowling thrown in.

    Coloured kits for Tests!

Aren't their colours anyway? England often have a bright white kit while Australia often have a dirty, creamy "white" kit. So why not just go the whole hog.

    Troughiest Troughs

Lara the ODI batsman comes to mind, he scored about 6 half centuries in his final 45 innings without a century in those last 2 years. I have the memory of him hopping around he crease, unsure of himself and his technique.

Which three countries, if combined, do you guys think would produce the best ODI XI? I'd go with oz, pak and the saffers...something like : 1. Gilchrist wk 2. Anwar 3. Ponting c 4. Amla 5. ABD 6. Kallis 7. Afridi 8. Pollock 9. Akram 10. Ajmal/Saqqy 11. Younis So many more combinations...

Can you recognise these batsmen purely by their stance?

    26 - Tresco 29 - Boom Boom 30 - Parore the others I cant pic...maybe one is a west indian?

The best of these 90s keeper-bats - Jacobs, Parore, Mongia, Moin

Moin Khan as the complete keeper/bat of the decade, across formats. He was a hard hitting, lower order run getter in ODIs and a competent bat. On top of all that, he was, at his best, the most athletic keeper of the lot. Jacobs is a solid second, I can see why some voted for him. Parore comes...

Talking about resting players...without even playing a match.

A Pakistan all time ODI XI 1. S. Anwar 2. S. Afridi 3. Z. Abbas (possibly the most underrated ODI batsman of all time, his 100 odd chasing in Sydney is one of THE ODI innings) 4. J. Miandad 5. I. Haq 6. M. Yousuf 7. K. Akmal wk 8. I. Khan c 9. W. Akram 10. S. Ajmal 11. W. Younis Could see...

Look, let me spell it out for you - Ashwin has had a limited career where huge amounts of his career have been played on turning Asian tracks, in an age where the batsmen are not as good against spin. HIs away record shows a big drop in form away. Singh has almost a 3rd or more of his wickets...

Mohammed Amir cleared to return with immediate effect

He is 34 years old and a worse offender then Amir. The latter was young, naive, just heading into stardom, whereas Asif was previously convicted on drugs charges, had a couple other controversies and seemed completely unrepentant with what he did. I rooted for an Amir come back but wish Asif and...

Which is your favorite sledging instance?

That bit with Freddy, I think it was against NZ? When he said "oh mind the windows" and the guy went for a big hit and got out lol

Road to the 2017-18 Ashes in Australia

Australia's batting looks just as weak as one would expect, with England's not much better, so it is the bowlers that must decide it. Australia, even with a couple of injuries have the better line up. An Aus XI I'd pick: 1. Warner 2. Marsh (who else can open?) 3. Khawaja (I guess he could...

Road to the 2017-18 Ashes in Australia

England have had personnel problems but Australia seem to be digging their own grave. I still expect them to win but they dont have any idea who their best 15 or 16 players are.

    Considering we have been making a lot of test sides, I thought I would put together an England all time ODI side....which will be tough 1. G. Gooch 2. A. Hales 3. J. Root 4. K. Pietersen 5. E. Morgan c 6. J. Buttler wk 7. A. Flintoff 8. I. Botham 9. G. Swann 10. D. Gough 11. J. Anderson The...

Harby has over 400 test wickets, so yes,, he gets picked ahead of one trick Ashwin, until Ashwin ends with a career that was as prolific. But that selection is ok-ish, I just cant understand Khan out in favour of a novice. It would be tight. Indias batting has a slight edge but Lankas bowling...

I have to change my own team haha I thought I had already put Herath in there, which is why I picked Mathews because he can pitch in with the ball a little bit. So: 1. S. Jayasuriya 2. M. Attapattu 3. K. Sangakkara wk 4. M. Jayawardene c 5. A. de Silva 6. A. Ranatunga 7. A. Mathews 8. C...
