    Hussain: We need a Wilko

Hussain is such a bandwagon jumper ... England need a team of players who can play together for 10 years or so. If they have that, you will have your 400 wicket takers (Anderson, Harmison, Jones ...). But remember the likes of Warne and McGrath are successful because they play together with a...

    Exciting batsmen

I think Flintoff is more exciting than Gilchrist to be honest. The way he just mashes the bowling is extraordinary. Gilchrist is much more classical (in comparison), and therefore more classy, but not AS exciting. I would put Lara second, and Gilly third.

Actually GRATEFUL NEEDS TO RE-PICK ... You already have 3 English players. Barnes would be a 5th, and 4 is the limit. Sorry ... Grateful UP for his re-pick JohnnyA picked Hobbs Then Gibbs

7.06 John Hobbs Another from that Golden age of cricket, and the best batsman of his generation by a country mile. Gives me an excellent left right opening partnership with Mark Taylor (not that it matters of course :)). The almost 57.00 BA for a 7th round pick isn't too shabby either :) BA...

Why no Great Britain cricket team ?

England basically already is a British team. Anyone from the UK is qualified to play. I'm from Northern Ireland, and have always considered them my team. Should they change their name ... no. Why? Tradition. I'm big enough to know what the team means to me. I don't need a name change to tell me...

    best and worst commentator ?

Best: used to love the Boycott Benaud partnership. Also like Chappell, Holding, Reeve ... and some other newer ones. Worst: Agnew. Stuck up his own arse. He spends most of his time on his knees Prince Charlesing the best players on the opposition teams ... Worst: Botham ... useless, can't...

    Vintage Cricket Draft Anyone?

The only place I can fairly draw the line is at the end. What if next week someone pick Chanderpaul. And Chanderpaul scores a hundred just before he picks him. Chanderpauls' hundred will have come after Lara's. But because Chanderpaul's stats will be froozen only when he's picked, his hundred...

    Vintage Cricket Draft Anyone?

Don't see why not ... But we'll freeze the stats when the last pick is made. I bet you wished we had already started that live league, and had Lara on board!!! :)

Acceptable economy rates in FC cricket

Completely agree ... if what your saying is that he didn't bowl as well as the commentators and press were saying. I thought it was very condescending the way Mark Nicholas kept mentioning his race and colour every time he mentioned the player. It may be symbolically important that a black...

Tough pick here. Thought about a NZ'er. But I also need an opener. So I'll opt for my first Aussie, who happened to be a decent bloke by all accounts: 6.06 Mark Taylor BA: 43.22 RUNS: 7525 100's: 19 Dismissals: 157 GratefulCardinals at the crease Marc with his pads on in the pavilion

Test Match or One Day Cricket

Langer is not consiedred because you have to make room in the one day team/squad for more mediocre all rounders. There are less specialised positions available, simple as that. With Gilchrist moving up to open, Symonds, Harvey etc coming in, there just aren't enough specialised places. Hence...
