    Murali

Based on the straightening of the arm when he bowls the leg break. The offy and toppy are OK ... there is no straightneing. Not so with the leggy .. definate elbow movement. But so what ... I don't care if slow bowlers have a partial straightening of the arm. Murali's spin comes from his wrist...

    Standout Performance of 2003?

Dravid and Haydn for sure. Never saw Lara, so can't comment. But Ntini at Lords? 10 for 220 (two hundred and twenty!!!). The wickets that weren't tail enders were handed to him on a plate at long leg and deep square leg. Perhaps the crappiest batting performace of the year ... although I'm sure...

Yeah .. but I don't mind that ... I love watching Murali bowling ... if that's illegal ... so what IHMO Fast bowlers area different matter ... for me anyway.

    Muralitharan a burglar,a thief and a dacoit : Bedi

He chucks his leg break ... but so what!!!! He's not hurting anyone ... unlike fast bowlers who chuck at 100 mph (Akhtar). The rule is designed to prevent fast bowlers from dangerously chucking the ball ... Murali is a cricketing genius who has somewhat revolutionised the game ... how often are...

    Dire Times Ahead For England

OK ... so if we say that four batting spots will be opening up in the next 3-5 years. Who will take these spots? Some names so far: Key - good technique poor psychology Shah - horrible technique from what I remember McGrath - even worse static technique Smith - shuffler with very poor foot...

    Dire Times Ahead For England

Re: Re: Dire Times Ahead For England Was I really blaming the lower order? Did you even read what I wrote? What I said was ALL about the top 6. Who are these top 6 then? That was my question. Butcher? NO Thorpe? 35 years old! Hussain? NO Collingwood? ha Key? Not unless he has a brain...

    Dire Times Ahead For England

I wasn't really talking about this tour. If England can get their best bowlers on the field and 100% fit, they will always have a chance. But that's not the problem IMO. The batting is the problem, and the fact that we have holes (or imminent holes) at 3, 4, 5 & 6, not even to mention the wicket...

    Dire Times Ahead For England

All this talk about the demise of Austrailia seem to be hiding one crucial factor: who's going to unseat them? Watching the recent series between England and Sri Lanka has shown me that it's not going to be England. Strangely, most of the finger pointing has been directed towards England's...

    Do you agree with Ganguly??

India are no way number 1. They have an atrocious away record. When they turn that around over a time period, then they can call themselves number 1. Can they be number 1? I think so ... but they need the seam bowlers they have to step it up another level. Khan I like, Nehra too. If they can...

    Worst Commentators

I watched most of the last test with India ... and was bored rigid to be honest. Made me appreciate Channel 4's commentary crew an awful lot more. Bill Lawry sucks big time. Talk about completely biased. There was one stint were the indians were cruising in the last innings, and Mark Nicholas...

    Batting vs Bowling

If I've to choose ... I'll take the ace bowling lineup. It means the batters have to score less runs to win games, and puts much more pressure on the opposition. Common sense really. Ace bowling means shorter matches with lots of results (in your favour normally). Ace batting means lots of...

    Nasser Hussain comments

Nothing wrong witht he off break or toppy. But there is definate straightening of the arm when he bowls the leg break. That said, i have no problem with it. He's a slow bowler, and will not be causing any harm to batsmen. That, i believe is why the rule was tightened ... to prevent fast bowlers...
