5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

I really hope they go with 4 specialist bowlers. Their priority, first and foremost, should be taking 20 wickets especially in this final test, which they cannot afford to draw at all.

I'm really not seeing where the love for Arshdeep is coming from honestly. He's been noted to have similar issues to what Kamboj had last Test in terms of sustaining pace and he's still incredibly new to red ball cricket as shown by his average. Logic suggests he shouldn't play if the objective is to win and not just provide experience.

Yeah nothing makes me think Krishna or Arshdeep are going to do much next test which makes picking them somewhat bizarre as its going to mean the exclusion of kuldeep who is a much more proven Test bowler and is a better bat.

Whatever it takes!!!

I think Kuldeep should come in for Shardul. The other two Deeps for Bumrah and Kambhoj.

Now all said though, if there was an issue in that track/ground that slowed everyone down, I do think we are being rather harsh on Kambhoj. I still wont mark his cards based on one game where even Bumrah was operating a good 10 Ks down on his usual pace.

The reason most bowlers were notably slower is surely just fatigue, which is one excuse Kamboj can't claim.
Kamboj on his end was coming back from a shin isssue, to be fair. That still doesn't change my view on people assuming Arshdeep is suddenly a better 3rd pacer option than Prasidh.

Forecast doesn't look great. Draw must be favourite. Series win in bag with one more good batting display.
On the other hand, maybe a sketchy forecast means we'll see actual movement off the straight consistently in the Test; if there's one thing we know about modern Test cricket it's that games don't need much time at all to see a result in such circumstances
