Not hating this from Sudarshan tbh. Doesn't look like a perfect batsman, Just needs to work on his balance a tad but doesn't really look out of place at this level so far.
He’s a weird one because he’s looked untidy almost every ball without making too many actual mistakes. He's showing decent judgement.

When you see a young guy with an underwhelming FC record debut in tests, this isn't what you expect their technique to look like. Are they selecting him based on the IPL?

He has done well in A tour vs Australia A. Did well on bowler friendly wickets on odi tour of south Africa

Done well in IPL yeah, but even though the FC stats aren't flash, he's been on the upswing recently. Got a good hundred in an A game vs an ok Australia attack last year.

It's a bit of a punt but I guess they're looking for another cross format player now that Kohli and Rohit are gone from tests. His stance is way too upright which is what's causing him to fall over a bit. But he's playing it nice and late which is a good sign. There's others who've been piling on the runs for longer in the domestic circuit so it's definitely a gamble.

Not really tbh. Scored well when the Mackay pitch got extremely dry and flat, but looked very vulnerable to the moving ball the rest of the time - had very hard hands, driving away from his body. I wasn't convinced at all watching those two games.

Fought well here so far though.

Didn't get the figures but I thought Jurel looked by far the best player in those A games tbh. A class above.

Yeah I would have played Jurel. Yadav instead of Sundar. And another full batsman instead of Shardul (Nair) - Gill didn’t even trust him to bowl much in that first test and he didn’t exactly set the world on fire when he did.

jaiswal
Rahul
Nair
Gill
Sundaresan
Pant
Jadeja
Kuldeep
Kumbol
Siraj
Bumrah

I think overall bowling is better and honestly batting is too.

Really liked what I've seen of Sai. Hopefully he doesn't get out now that I say it but that drop chance might just be the slice of luck he needed to kick on and play an important innings here.

Unlike Jaiswal and even Gill, he's a good leaver of the ball in that outside off-stump line so he has that aspect of his technique covered.

That mid order of Pant Jag Washy & Faker looks pretty good batting wise, and england havnt got through the top order yet. This is where they need some spinners or containing bowlers to rush through 20 overs and get them near to the new ball before the light fails. With england its more likely tother way, dawdle until the umps decide to call it off.
