Pitch looks crumbly in that follow through area already.
Yeah, I don't really see how this gets easier to bat on. Edgbaston Repeat, India in very strong position now.

If England had reliable openers, would they have opted to bat first? It really was a case of see off the first hour and then it gets easier.

Sai's proven me wrong. Has a great temperament. The matches with Surrey have paid off. Pant has looked good, apart from a few sloppy shots here and there.

Good thing India aren't batting last on this pitch.

Ditto to what the others are saying. Pant should go off, as India will need him later on. Sai and Jadeja can see it through the last hour or so.

I was going to make a gag about him avoiding wicketkeeping again, but this looks rather more serious. I'd actually be surprised looking at this if he plays much further part in the match.
