What happened to Hartley?
Forget about him. What happened to Hartley?
nah 2021 had Anderson and other bowling well and a proper contest between bat and ball. Both teams were far betterseries has been cool so far, thousands of times better than the 2021 series.
No way we pick that team (Carse might not be fit for starters), but it would be hilarious, Woakes might genuinely be #11No spinner. Woakes, Archer, Carse, Gus, Stokes.
garbage, literally the worst series to take place in England since the first world war and now we're claiming it was good. Also, current England would crush that side, lol. This one random match from 2000s was substantially better viewing than anything in the 2021 seriesnah 2021 had Anderson and Broad bowling well and a proper contest between bat and ball. would be fun but we'd persist with Bashir. No way we pick that team (Carse might not be fit for starters), but it would be hilarious, Woakes might genuinely be #11
Dawson is averaging over 40 in the Championship this season, and Ahmed has either not bowled at all, or bowled less than everyone else in most games this seasonDawson? Neither of those things are true
I just didn't know who you were talking about because Dawson has bowled in every match this year and played a Test in England.Dawson is averaging over 40 in the Championship this season, and Ahmed has either not bowled at all, or bowled less than everyone else in most games this season
nomsense, the Lords, Oval and even the Wdgbaston tests were better than anything we’ve seen so far. This is the worst English bowling side since the early 1990s and the batting in this match was pitiful. India was better a few years ago too. This is the worst English side I’ve seen since the 90s. Stokes is a brilliant captain but can’t justify his place as a player. Crawley is the worst opener to ever play for England. Root is done. There are three to four people that are test class.garbage, literally the worst series to take place in England since the first world war and now we're claiming it was good. Suspect it’ll be this:would be fun but we'd persist with Bashir.

bring back Botham. He’s better in his 70s than most of these scrubsSuspect it’ll be this:
Crawley (should be under pressure by now, but a mixture of few viable alternatives and strong backing from the management mean he will stay, probably until the Ashes)
Duckett
Pope (still not convinced by him, he’s done that thing where he hits a ton followed by **** all for the next three innings, but as it stands, he’s only had one bad Test so has some credit in the bank still I suppose, not that the management need any reason to back their vice captain)
Root
Brook
Stokes (his bowling displays in the first Test and against Zimbabwe are doing a lot of heavy lifting because his batting is falling off a cliff)
Smith
Atkinson
Archer
Tongue
Bashir
Wouldn’t shock me to see Overton in and all three out and out seamers replaced
I like Ahmed, but as Bashir is finding out, it’s tough learning your trade as a spinner in England! He’s in Div 2 at the moment so probably not at the forefront of the selectors minds, but I wonder if he felt he needed to step up with the bat to even get a look-in for England outside of spinning Asian conditionsI just didn't know who you were talking about because Dawson has bowled in every match this year and played a Test in England.
As I said he has struggled more this year on some very flat pitches. He averaged low 20s the previous two seasons.
Doesn't mean I think he would be taking loads of wickets in this series, doubt any spinner would be.
Just a garbage post here? The bowling was better in 2021, Yes, much better but the batting was absolutely abhorent. Duckett is miles better than Sibley, Pope is miles better than Burns, Brook is miles better than Bairstow, Stokes is miles better than Lawrence and Jamie is miles better than Buttler. Leagues, Leagues apart, 2021 England would get humiliated and crushed. Root averaged 55 last year and made 6 hundreds, literally the number one ranked test batsman in the world, one bad game and got out to a freak delivery and he's "finished"? lol. We had Hameed, Malan and Overton playing in 2021, like wtf.nomsense, the Lords, Oval and even the Wdgbaston tests were better than anything we’ve seen so far. Woakes definitely in over Tongue imo, he averages 12 at Lord's and is the best bowler by a mile on green wickets if it's any lively, if Archer and Atkinson are coming in then Yeah they walk in, maybe rest Woakes at OT considering how flat it can be?Suspect it’ll be this:

It’s easy to **** on the England bowlers, but they’ve been playing in flat conditions for a while now both at home and away (especially in New Zealand and Pakistan), I think this is the first really poor showing from them. The one thing I would say is that Woakes is creaking and I’m not sure about the durability of the rest, Archer won’t help in that regard, but hopefully he can come in for some short, sharp spells, take some wickets and help knock over the Indian batting lineup quicker than they would have done without himnomsense, the Lords, Oval and even the Wdgbaston tests were better than anything we’ve seen so far. I guess we’ll wait and see what the wicket will be like at Lord’s, but I wouldn’t be opposed to that, a fit Archer and Atkinson are massive to this teamWoakes definitely in over Tongue imo, he averages 12 at Lord's and is the best bowler by a mile on green wickets if it's any lively, if Archer and Atkinson are coming in then Yeah they walk in, maybe rest Woakes at OT considering how flat it can be?
