Whatever it takes!!!
I dont think his ability is in question. His attitude though....
What overs to develop, and at this level? You're either born with game sense or you're not. There's a difference between a plan gone awry and no plan at all. It's plainly evident Prasidh doesn't know what he's after running up to bowl unless it's been forcefed to him on account of his prior failings, like the short outside off "ploy" he resorted to today. Reminds me of noone so much as Munaf Patel but without even his smidgeon of control.
Ishant took a long time to get good, and it's not like he had the greatest sense of the game when he started out. These new bunch of bowlers just haven't gotten the amount of overs the previous bunch did when they were raw and inexperienced. They're going to be bad on occasion, especially compared to Bumrah. Either back them or stop supporting the side, because there's not much options that's going to bring India above England atm.I agree with playing 4 genuine pacers but Prasidh is not it. He's 29 years old and has shown nothing except some bounce. At least Arshdeep has international exposure and may fare better under a T20 like onslaught from bazballers. Can't do any worse than Prasidh. Plus he's younger, so may develop.
Unfortunately I doubt Gambhir has the balls to play a four man pace attack, if anything, they'll bring back NKR for Thakur + 3 pacers + Jadeja. Same old story like Australia.
ishant bowled 148-152kmph when he debuted and could move it in off the seamIshant took a long time to get good
And was about as bad as Siraj still.ishant bowled 148-152kmph when he debuted and could move it in off the seam
prasidh has a low ceiling compared to him
They probably see too much of the Shami mold without the extra pace and bouncer ability, and that he can't hold a bat like Shardul.Akashdeep showed much more in the few chances he's got so far than Prasidh ever has, could've picked up a bag of wickets in Australia with some luck. Really don't get how Prasidh keeps getting picked ahead of him. I get India really want someone of the Ishant mold who can extract bounce from the deck, because it's something that's been sorely missing from the attack for years, but you can't be this focussed on bowler archetype over bowler quality.
Exactly this.Akashdeep showed much more in the few chances he's got so far than Prasidh ever has, could've picked up a bag of wickets in Australia with some luck. ShamiPrasidh might have a lower ceiling, but as it stands which Indian pacer is definitively better than him that isn't Bumrah?
No and no. Anyone who watched Ishant pre and post Perth knows he lost his action and everything else that made him so potent till he had to remodel himself into the conservative medium pacer of his later years. With the wherewithal at the BCCI's disposal at the moment, we shouldn't have to give another guy 40-odd Tests to learn and mature on the job. As it stands, Akashdeep is a smarter and more grooved bowler than Prasidh. Even Arshdeep knows enough to pitch it up and give it a chance to move. He might go the distance but I'd rather see someone continuously driven in England than carted either side off short of length filth. And was about as bad as Siraj still.
Can you guys at least admit that he's worth the spot because he's good enough as it stands?
Why?As good as Pant is, him lining up at 3 down just does not feel right. For all the talk of balance, we still haven't figured this one out. At least rejig Sudarshan and Nair around 3 and 5 (yes, that means giving them more chances this series), and let Pant assume some semblance of a more conventional batsman-keeper role.
Only Shami would count from there, and he's battling injuries. The rest are either practically retired from Tests or just straight up not better.Shami
Bhuvi
Akash
Dayal
Mukesh
Rana
Avesh
Porel
Unadkat
There isn't a great option here that's obvious enough to make. The extra pace bowling options are largely not good enough with the bat or not good enough to be valid options with the ball (assuming 3 main pacers of Bumrah/Siraj/___). And nothing in the conditions this game and his previous Tests suggests Akash Deep is currently good enough to pull off the Ishant role or even step up as the 2nd pace option (and no, aesthetics can go die in a hole when it comes to winning). I would've loved to see India forget about Shardul and either play all 4 of them or just pick Kuldeep for one of them, but Prasidh playing isn't really that bad.No and no. you are a bit dumb so i am not surprised by these wordsOnly Shami would count from there, and he's battling injuries. The rest are either practically retired from Tests or just straight up not better.

You're not exactly that sharp either.you are a bit dumb so i am not surprised by these words
It isn't. Really. It is that bad
Guy gave 6.5 runs per Over. Stop. You're not exactly that sharp either.
It isn't. Really.
man he's so ****in good what a time to be aliveBumrah 5/83 (plus 3 dropped chances & noball)
Others 5/382
He's barely played Tests. I'm a bit sick of people having zero patience and then telling me to stop saying give the players time. If you can't take this then don't watch. Not like you'll die if you can't watch a Test.Guy gave 6.5 runs per Over. Stop.
poster + likers of post is a real insight into the lala land livers when it comes to Harry BrookThe Pommy Marnus.
Can't wait for the melt downs on here when he inevitably reverts to mean.
