The Wheel is Forever
Shardul Thakur really has served zero purpose this Test match. Might as well have a batter throw down some **** to give the other bowlers a break.

Yeah two things annoy me here about the Shardul selection. He is our only genuine swing bowler in this line up, so ideally you would bowl him as early as possible, I would even give him the new ball and see if he can get it to whoop around. Siraj seems to waste new balls these days in tests, and Prasidh is always a first/second change bowler, across formats.

Second, if you really dont rate his bowling so much, why not pick NKR who is the far better batsman, or Kuldeep, who is a far better bowler?
Pushing for specialists ahead of allrounders? Has your account been hacked, hb?

Having said that, these are good points. I'm surprised NKR doesn't retain his place after his performances in Australia. He was one of your better bats there for sure even if he's a bit ineffective with the ball. Also, Kuldeep is a no brainer I think.

I remember I posited an option B line up for this test.

Jaiswal
Rahul
Nair
Gill (c)
Pant
NKR
Jadeja
Kuldeep
Bumrah
Siraj
Prasidh

This may have been far better for this test.

4 good pace options and 2 spinners with equally good batting despite the tail. You guys missed a trick not doing this.

Hindsight is 50/50, but india definitely made the wrong decision re/kuldeep. Jadeja is getting some real turn, reckon he would have been a handful. On that note, is shardul even that much better from a batting perspective? Kuldeep averages 21 and has a fc ton, not like he can't bat.

Gee Zac Crawley, Joe Root and Ben Stokes have reverted to mean after short spells of decent form, haven’t they?
