Gosh he is so adorable and handsome at the same time with those dreamy eyes

Cummins looks alright too
I can’t remember the last time we have had a SA cricketer that people just like the way they do Bavuma. We can pick apart his place in LO teams but I’m so happy for the bloke to be leading the team out on Wednesday. Been a great servant in some dark times for our Test batting.

What id like is:

Konstas
Khawaja
Smith
Inglis
Head
Webster
Carey
Cummins
Starc
Lyon
Hazelwood

I don’t care which of the fast bowlers they select, Boland can come in for any of them. Green can come into the team when Khawaja retires (which should be soon). Webster is what we need at 6 right now. And Inglis should be given a shot (and also open in any FC matches he plays).
I agree with this team completely. The Inglis hate and Marnus love is out of control

It's not going to matter anyway. Aus is winning this in three days regardless of who they pick. It won't solve any of the issues surrounding the opening spot and/ or Marnus.

There's noone else for him to come in for.

I have a bit of a different take. I don't mind Marnus being dropped. Just not for Konstas.
I hope its not Josh Inglis lol

I would swap out Green for Webster and play Boland over Haze. That's the most stable team you can get with everyone in the top 5 bats where they are most comfortable and batting is strengthen by Green with his current form (his last cc hundred was made batting at 6.)

Its not like it’ll matter in the Ashes either so it isn’t really an issue til next year.

Yeah fair point.

The long term answer is Tim Ward, but everyone already knows that.

WTC cycle stats

Cummins (73 wkts) or Starc (72) could overtake Bumrah (77) to be #1 in most wkts

Khawaja (1422 runs) or Smith (1324) could overtake Duckett (1470) for 3rd in most runs

SA nowhere close to any records because they played so few tests

I just hope Starc has learnt from Team India's previous attempt on Bavuma's life and doesn't throw the cricket ball at him during the test

Interesting looking down those stats, the likes of Hazlewood, Atkinson, Henry and Rabada have all had a very strong 2 years but not played as many Tests as the top few (Bumrah's top no matter what).

No surprise to see Root Number 1 in runs, he plays the most Tests and he's basically the best batsman at the mo too. Surprised at how low Head's average is, a remarkably similar record to Crawley's!!
