What's amusing is how readily you can predict the victors in an India vs. Pakistan match.

Once more, India demonstrated their cunning.

Sri Lanka are blessed with some good allrounders. Need to utilize them properly. Totally forgot that they are playing without Hasaranga as well.

Nissanka
Samarawickrama
DDS
Hasaranga
Wellalage
Shanaka
C Karunaratne
Asalanka
Mendis (wk)
Theekshana
Pathirana

is an excellent 11 for the WC. Just need to find the right top 3.
Get off the drugs, HB.

One all-rounder too many in this XI. Karunaratne has been decent in his ODI return so far. Kusal Perera can also be a good hitter at the top of the order if he can find back his form. 4-9 can be the all-rounders, DDS, Shanaka, Asalanka, Hasaranga, Wellalage and Chamika.

India is looking really strong now going into the World Cup. Bumrah is looking fantastic. Siraj probably coming across as better than he actually is.
Bowling is looking settled, yes. But we do have weakness with death bowling. Siraj, Shami (and Shardul lmao) are not suited to bowl at death. Wish we had Arshdeep in the squad.

Whatever it takes!!!
So , there has never been a IND vs PAK final in Asia cup history 😳 This is extremely surprising considering, there have been total 15 Asia cup tournaments.
Even more coz for the last 10 years at least, their mission statement has basically been to contrive a way to get an Ind-Pak final.

ICC are waiting eagerly to see if it works and the moment it does, implement the learnings to their various World Cups. :p

The irony is that the one format that desperately needs an India vs Pakistan match up hasn't had one for 16 years .🤔

I mean every T20 WC , ODI WC and Champions Trophy in the last decade has had India and Pakistan in the same group , yet they can't find a way to play test matches against each other.

It's better we are not playing test matches with them currently. At-least it keeps our head-to-head record intact.

We have average openers, overhyped main batsman who can only play medium pace, below average spinners, average A/Rs & a midget captain. Eng easily whitewashed us not long ago. India can easily win each match by 1 innings & 300+ runs. Our batters can't face Kuldeep. Jadeja, Bumrah, Siraj & Ashwin are pro test bowlers.

For perspective, India has won 11 of last 15 ODIs against us.

I agree that Babar is a very uninspiring, Root-esque captain but I would say it's one of their strongest batting lineups in years.

I'd say their downfall has been a combination of uninspiring tactics and captaincy, and poor bowling. Can't let India get 350 - 2, that's a ****ing disgrace
