Really? I thought he was low 5' in numbers. I can see a lot of articles out there referring to him being the shortest player in test cricket at 4ft 9in, but they all seem to reference wikipedia. I can find other sources with him at 4'10", 5'1" and 5'6". Similarly, there are plenty of photos I can find of him with other players, none of which seem to suggest that kind of difference in height.
Google says Gavaskar 1.65m, Bavuma 1.62m. Wikipedia says Gavaskar 1.63m, Bavuma's height is not mentioned.

van Wyk is damn short, but I'd put money the reported height of 4'9 was for comedy value, probably his team mates told him to submit that for a laugh. I'd guess he's around 5'3 -5'4, maybe an inch shorter than the more stocky Bavuma.
