How would you rank the three of the best bowling pairs of the 90s/early 2000s?
Sounds about right. Probably reverse the order for career.Assuming all are at their peaks:
WWs>Donald/Pollock>CCs.
Donald/Pollock didn't have as many collective running through a lineup together, usually one of them fired at a time, I think that may tamper people's enthusiasm for them.Somehow Donald/Pollock as a pair never registered in my mind. They were both playing together and were in great form together for 4-5 years but no one mentioned them as a deadly duo like that for for other two duos.
I will stop voting for Akram and Lillee in these polls if you don't stop misspelling Waqar.Akram > Donald > Ambrose > Waquar ( Top Tier ATGs)
>> Walsh > Pollock
Akram + Waquar = Sachin + Ponting
Donald + Pollock = Lara + Chanderpaul
Ambrose + Walsh = Ponting + Dravid
Maybe its his genius ploy to get you to vote for Kapil and Procter.I will stop voting for Akram and Lillee in these polls if you don't stop misspelling Waqar.
Akram was better than Ambrose?Akram > Donald > Ambrose > Waqar ( Top Tier ATGs)
>> Walsh > Pollock
Akram + Waqar = Sachin + Ponting
Donald + Pollock = Lara + Chanderpaul
Ambrose + Walsh = Ponting + Dravid
Their peaks also coincided which made them more awesome to watch. At their peaks, Wasim and Waqar was the best bowling pair of the 90s.
Ambrose and Walsh also had Bishop in the first half to help.I'm surprised by the poll results. Donald/Pollock in the late 90s peaked together while Walsh/Ambrose didn't. Ambrose was phenomenal until 96 or so and after that was less penetrative. Walsh was good in the first half of the decade but only became truly great after that.
Donald/Pollock also caused India way more trouble (mainly because we played them more often) so that could be affecting my thoughts here.
@Fuller PilchSeem to have omitted Danny Morrison and Willie Watson.
