Is there a team that can beat this Asian ODI XI?

Lloyd was a great ODI player and captain. Deserves a mention here.

Going Waugh or Watson over Lara and Haynes mainly due to need for the 6th bowler.
No AB?

Also Symonds and Klusener are wasted at 7 and 8 and then Hadlee at 9.

Yes, I went for that depth from 7-9 to compensate for the loss in bowling. Klusenar, Symonds, Watson and Viv to bowl 20 overs. We can replace Symonds with Garner if we need the bowling depth.

Buttler over AB was a tough choice. Both are brilliant batsmen who can strike the ball hard. I am fine with any one of them.

assuming prime versions of everyone

1. Gordon Greenidge
2. Johnny Bairstow
3. Viv Richards ( c )
4. Dean Jones
5. AB De Villiars
6. Michael Bevan
7. Andrew Flintoff
8. Richard Hadlee
9.Shane Warne
10 Joel Garner
11. Glenn McGrath

I feel like you have the better openers mainly due to Sachin , I feel like I have the stronger 3-6 ( AB > Kohli , Viv >>>>>>> Sanga and Bevan >= Dhoni and Jones~Babar ) , I have 2 all rounders compared to two you have ( Kapil Is GOAT ODI All rounder but Flintoff averages 32 with the bat and 24 with the ball while Hadlee is a 21.6 averaging pacer with decent SR ( 75 in that era ) , Warne and wasim's batting cancel each other out and there is not much between warne and wasim , Feel Like Garner/Wasim/McGrath are the GOAT one day pacers and I've two of em , combined with Hadlee and warne and Flintoff , feel like my bowling attack is significantly stronger.

All worthy of a mention, especially the supercat, but find it hard to omit Garner from any one day side tbh

Rest of world xi? An all time Oz or WI would be enough:

Gilchrist +
Waugh
Ponting*
Jones
Hussey
Bevan
Symonds
Hogg
Lee
Starc
Mcgrath

Haynes
Greenidge
Gayle
Viv*
Lara
Hooper
Shai Hope+
Roberts
Holding
Ambrose
Garner

I'd give any Oz xi the edge because Australia has proven time and time again to be able to win. Australia plays as more than a sum of its parts.

Nope. Wasim way superior as a ODI bowler. Warne finds it hard even to become the second best ODI spinner.

Usually this would be the case for ROW XI. But Subcontinental players know their opponents very well. 90% of them understand the same language even (except Sri Lankans - but then you don't need much to say to Murali or Jayasuriya who are cricketing geniuses). Asian XI is easily more than sum of it's parts.

The super tests should have been against Asian XI, not ROW XI.

you have wasim way ahead of McGrath and Garner as an ODI pacer? I could have taken Saqlain but Warne has more longetivity and better WC record.

I have QdK in because you need one opener to fire on all cylinders from ball one. #3 could be Williamson too I guess. Watson is there for his bowling too. De Silva over Babar because he seems more suited to batting at #5. Imran and Flintoff picked because why wouldn't you go for 5 frontline bowlers without sacrificing batting depth? Crowe over Taylor because he played in a tougher era. Lloyd also a good option. Just realised I forgot about Klusener but eh, worse bowler than Freddie.

Edit: lmao forgot about Lara. Will have him over both Root and Williamson. Oops.

I'd ditch Root and have Buttler in that middle order. Buttler knows when to stay put and when to attack so he can do either job.

Viv
Crowe
AB
Buttler
Freddie
Pollock

That's a crazy middle order

Also Tahir has been a beast in LOIs and personally I'd pick him ahead of someone like a Vettori.

5th bowler is a big weakness here. Dunno if they’d win majority of the time over a large sample size but it would obviously be competitive either way. The fielding blows the Asian side out the water though.

This makes little sense.

If you argue this you have to accept that the non Asian side would wreck the Asian side because they all speak english. Just a very weird post.

I kinda find the #5 batting slot for the asian side a tad weak, guys like Yuvi/Shakib/De Silva etc. are greats of the one day game for sure but they feel just not quite at the level of the rest of the folks in this exercise.
