2nd Test at Adelaide - 16 to 20 Dec

Whatever it takes!!!
Labuschange had 10 off 8 or 9 balls at one point. he is now 10 off 31, lol.

And angle of the seam is immaterial when the bat is actually behind the pad. I think it pretty clearly was front pad first and then bat onto backpad but again, the 3rd umpire did the right thing coz the rule states they need conclusive evidence to overturn. And in this case, it was not a wrong decision on field in the first place. And I am not gonna discuss this non-issue any further.

5 pacemen seems like overkill, assuming Stokes does his fair share of bowling. May as well play another batsman if you're gonna opt for no spinner

England could have had 4 or 5-for with more luck. Plenty in this wicket and they've bowled beautifully

It’s ok for England to bowl back of a length and dry imo. Not the worst thing if Australia bat the whole of today but with only ~240ish on the board so they can bowl them out tomorrow and bat in better conditions.

Would end up better than if they bowl them out and have to bat under lights for 10 overs tonight and face them tomorrow morning when they’re fresh again.

Of course it’s probably just more likely that Aus will just pile on 400+

Yeah big risk of having to bat under lights anyway tomorrow night if they don't take enough wickets today. Will get a lot easier with the old ball

The night session obviously changes things a bit but generally speaking you always take 1/30 at lunch if you're batting first and the ball is doing a bit. Especially if there are match fitness questions about the opposition bowlers.

Plus at this rate they might not get more than two or three overs with the second new ball tonight

Root will probably bowl himself a fair bit as the main spin option.

To make my point again, if it didn't feel very unorthodox having a specialist batsman at 8(or Joss) I could totally have justified playing one over Woakes here

Absolutely, massive win for Aussies this session at this point.
