seems like the issue is that none of the players wanted to catch COVID and miss the IPL as a result.

****ing IPL ruining Test cricket. Can't believe this series goes down as 2-2 because of a ****ing forfeit. Add the rain robbing us of a win in the 1st Test too. Crazy.

ECB official statement says that India are "unable to field a team" which sounds like a forfeit.
Unable to field a team could be Covid related reasons (legitimate) - surely can't be asked to forfeit a test cos of that?

The whole thing is mental.
