I must admit, it is a little known rule - and leads to a great little poser - see my separate post.As for it being a dead ball after 1.. Obviously the umpires or scorers didn't know that because I just looked up the book again and in had 99no.. I also saw that I have been stuck not out in the 90's 4 times and out in the 90's twice. Only got past 100 once.
I should add, as the wicket keeper who batted between 5-8 mostly, I often had the opportunity to do this while doing little else with the bat in the game.
Wondering how this wentI am playing my first year in the Senior womens a competion in Christchurch. Club is call 'Lancaster Park-Woolsten'. I aslo play under 17 reps for South canterbury and last season made the south island tournament team that played in a national tournament in Palmeston North.
I thought my story was going to be the daftest until I read this.I've done it a few times. Once we need one to win and I was on 96 so I wanted to hit a four. I only managed 3 though so was left on 99 not out. It is a good feeling though.
