It's fine.

I once played against someone who bowled in a helmet.

Apparently he had a vision problem and was worried he wouldn't be able to dodge if the ball was smashed back at him.
We had someone who used to bowl in a helmet in training, where batmen love to smash the ball in the air. Didn't have vision problems, was just unfit and slow as a wet week.

I don't mind a helmet or protective guard. Turban fine too for obvious reasons. Wearing a hat is stupid though.

I'd like to see it made compulsory to bowl with an eyepatch over one eye and a parrot on your shoulder.

not stupid if you're a spinner bowling 40 overs in a day where it's 40 degrees and you have no hair
