The Wheel is Forever
I think even chasing 75 is going to be tricky. Obviously india would be favorites until it reaches about 100-120, but it’s such a lottery that anything can happen.

It’s very exciting but not great cricket.

I don't really hate it in theory, but in practice the way they actually rate pitches is awful.
I don't know what metrics they use, but this is clearly sub par.

If India don't cop a points deduction for it there's really no point even having the potential penalty.

I have a feeling India would chase it down quite easily for some reason. Sometimes see that in low scorers. One side just randomly makes like 3/120 odd in a sea of tiny scores

Define great cricket then if this is not. Is it great only when bat and ball are doing as well as each other and you have 400 plays 300 and a day 5 finish?

I don't think there are WTC point deductions for bad pitch. Haven't seen anything about it anyways. Pitch ratings just tend to affect whether a venue can have International status or not.

I find this pitch fun, but fast bowlers couldn't land in their delivery strides safely by the end of day 1, so that would be the biggest argument for describing it as poor.

Axar's bowling with serious pace and revs and using the crease nicely. Very accurate too. Hardly 'lobbing' them down.

Scoring should get easier as the ball gets wet, so these two just need to survive till then.
