Oh yeah I didn't really make a ruling on that.

I think it's fine unless you wanted to pick one but thought they were unavailable. You didn't have any backs eliminated so I'm guessing not?

Henry Slade is as good as... but options to replace him with were.... Hadleigh Parkes?

Could drop him and move Farrell to 12 with ***ton at 10 but he’s only going to play one game in all likelihood.

Dupont hasn’t done anything and there’s a chance that FdK scores a bundle in his two games.

It’s all much of a muchness. I’m last so who gives a ****?

Drop: Finn Russell
Pick: Jonny ***ton (if can steal from Jimmys)
Pick: Romain Ntamack (if cant steal from Jimmys)

Was tempted by Yu Tamura as well. Either way, I'm likely only getting one bite with the remaining fly halves available.

For Clarity we shouldn't be allowed to take Jimmy's players

But under the Marcuss tipping Law, those empty slots will each receive the best scored player -1 point right?

But yeah, rough!

I’m not quite sure what your problem is or why you think it’s so unconventional.

Marc is free to run his comp how he wants but there have been plenty of tipping comps ran on this site where if people missed tips they’d receive the lowest score of the round -1

Obviously Marc’s comp is slightly different because there are multiple points available for one game.

Personally I’m disappointed because it feels a little like one rule for one and one rule for another but Marc explained he doesn’t see it that way and it’s been left at that.

It doesn’t warrant churlish comments and dragging across threads.

Quarters done, and that means for 47 of our selected players their tournament is now done. Some of them (Koriobete, Stander, Hooper) were massive scorers nonetheless and can't possibly be a poor contributor. Others (Kepu, Aki, Picamoles) were barely involved in the scoring and will not be missed.

Standings before the semis:

1) Ripper's Renegades - 749 points

Ripper holds on to his lead, with Koriobete outstanding and the likes of Sevu Reece starting to build a big score. But his side has been gutted by Australia and Ireland's losses and he will have only 7 players in the final two rounds, including only three backs.

2) Marcuss XV - 724

A storming round for the likes of Owen Farrell and Aaron Wainwright, and a Kurtley Beale effort that was statistically if not tactically excellent, has brought Marcuss right up from the doldrums. He'll bring 10 players into the semis.

3) Nip/Ruck - 713.8

Faf de Klerk's performance against Japan was the highest scoring bonus pick, outscoring the likes of O'Connor and Picamoles in one match. Brumby can also feel justified in his round 1 pick now that BIlly Vunipola has finally taken his spot as the highest scoring #8. He has lost only four players, and is served well by being able to keep Biggar and North ahead of the lesser spotted Guirado and Picamoles.

4) Southern Mob & a Welshman - 704

Stephen replaced one of his highest scorers in Tuisova and adding a third Barrett has immediately borne fruit as Stephen continues to nail the try scorers. His only problem is that many of his NZ and SA selections appear to have ended up second or third choice, such as Marx, Snyman, Jantjies and esecially Crotty. Still, this side are in a good position as 12 of the XV are still in the game.

5) Prop n' Lock - 703.4

You can fit a gnat's winkle between Stephan and me on the leaderbord, which is a little surprising given the number of duff picks of mine that have swanned their way out of the tournament this week. Bundee Aki especially, but Lealiifano took until he was knocked out to finally start kicking some points, and selecting Adams might be a case of after the horse has bolted too. Still, the bright side for my team is that the English front row showed up in force this week and all, along with brace scorer May, will be progressing to the semis. I'll have 10 players in the last four.

6) Dynamo Morpork - 697.8

Not so long ago the tournament leader, Magrat's side has slipped back and may struggle to reach the peaks again. After having shown faith in several second tier nations, Magrat will take only six players past this point, but three of them are her highest scorers in Pollard, de Allande and Mapimpi. The latter of these has of course shot back into position as the tournament's high scorer.

7) James XV - 658.4

James will have 8 players in the semi finals, which can be improved upon if/when he makes a bonus selection. For now, things look a little bleak as his scoring seems likely to rely entirely on his All Blacks half back pairing of Mo'unga and Aaron Smith.
