Dude, that special day was in 2010
Disappointed in myself for getting that wrong. Those were the days, none of this 'earning a living' nonsense getting in the way of me watching momentous days of cricket.

Listening to the noise of the Edgbaston crowd on the radio was immense too. So excited to be in the Hollies stand come 1 August :)

Jason Roy looks to me what Martin Guptill could be if he believed in himself more consistently.

Holy ****, what a player. The strokeplay today was other-worldly.
You mean like at the last world cup?
Because their overall average is almost identical. Roy higher sr but he does play on far more roads.

Congratulations England.
Incredible performance.
Red hot favs for final. Hopefully we can atleast give them some competition

I was distracted with women in 1996 and 2011 so this is my first world cup final as a neutral since 1992. I'd like little brother to pull off an upset but can live with an England win. Aside from their mid tourney stumble they really have shown they are the team to beat this WC. That was a decisive win last night. I hope Roy plays. It wasn't good but I didn't think it was bankable.

Nice of Smith to let everyone know that the transition from bowler to batsman is beyond complete.

Having had some time to sleep and reflect upon last night's performance I've decided that:

Langer
Stoinis
Handscomb
Maxwell

Should all be sacked and have their cards marked NTPFAA. I was going to suggest the gallows but on reflection that's probably a little harsh.

Also, I'm not sure just what happened with the pitch. There was loads of swing on offer for Archer and Woakes but nothing at all for Behrendorff and Starc.

Speaking of, was Starc's performance the worst bowling performance in a world cup semi final ever? If not it was certainly close.

England are looking very strong but with the right conditions New Zealand can win the final, which will be good for the game. England's winning anything is terrible for humanity.

lol that's a paddlin

a couple blokes on social media/at work already talking about how unlucky Australia were

You don't lose by 8 wickets in 32 overs just from bad lack lmfao

What sort of reasons are they using to say they were unlucky? How could such a loss be unlucky haha?

how much did you really learn? Langer's been getting **** on by the fans since he took over. No one rates him, he's terrible and everyone knows this and always has.

Stoinis was universally dropped by basically everyone weeks if not months ago except for some reason the selectors. We didn't really learn anything from another expected failure.

Handscomb has been one of our best bats in the middle order since he was selected judging him on one game where he came in in the first few overs (which is not his game IMO) is unfair. He's a middle-over specialist and other than Smith the best we have in that role. His skill at finding gaps and working the singles is vital. Sending him in at 2/10 instead of Carey or Stonis was dumb af.

I don't even know what to think of Maxwell anymore but I'm sick of talking about him

I don't remember, just laughed and moved on. There are always sport fans that need to make excuses for losing.
