Well now you're an expert in the field now thinking about this issue - please follow through.Bullshit. I use it to analyse book margins for autocropping and at other times I use it to to mask out areas based on colour. It happens as soon as i click 'doit'. On a video feed this is just 'doit' rinse and repeat. This cost me nothing, I just grabbed freeware scripts in php and tailored them to what i wanted and that was about 5 years ago. This tech must have come along in leaps and bounds since then. PHP isnt even made for imagine - that was just some basic stuff. Imagine what proper imaging tools could do.
It is affordable. Most image processing software has this inbuilt. The algorithms are readily accessible among the computer dudes.
The only expense here is the program that analyses these images and tailors them to cricket pictures.
It seems you are being purposely difficult in order to save your umpiring career from being replaced by bots.
lol you can't be seriousI mean the fact that a bunch of bored cricket posters have been able to come up with a semi viable solution just proves my point that if this was doable it would already be done tbh. There are, guaranteed, a ton of smarter people out there with more knowledge and more information who have spent more time than us towards trying to solve this. Guaranteed. Heck there are people out there who get paid to do this **** for a living, and yet there is no solution anywhere to be seen.
The day the tech makes this possible, I guarantee you we'll see someone, somewhere, put it into place.
That there are definitely a ton of people out there smarter than us, a that it's extremely likely that some of those smart people have actually tried to make this a reality?lol you can't be serious
Did you pose so many pseudo barriers when your boss asked you to prepare his powerpoint presentation?Well now you're an expert in the field now thinking about this issue - please follow through.
What obstacles would there be to develop that software towards applying this easily available tech towards determining the moment a bowler lands his front foot on the crease? That moment tells the automated no ball system when to check the stump mic cam to see the foot land on the line.
Is this a particularly hard piece of code to write? Won't be much substantial cost I imagine - all code is cheap, and programmers regularly go about writing little pet projects such as these for free
A steady video feed from the broadcasters camera is available. for sake of testing this tech out you could easily get down to the local cricket association and sync up with a sightscreen camera, and purchase/build a stump with a stump mic. Get some portable WiFi to get feeds to a laptop
Should be easy enough if the tech is as reliable and easily available as you say? What stops you from going out and making this system work? And what issues would there be to solve?
no that's not the part of your posting that I had a hard time believingThat there are definitely a ton of people out there smarter than us, a that it's extremely likely that some of those smart people have actually tried to make this a reality?
Absolutely. What kind of small world do you think we live in. Passionate smart people exist everywhere, just because you don't see yourself that way doesn't mean it's an alien concept.
Would love it if Victor Ian actually followed through on this tbh. Here is someone who actually knows what he's talking about and who doesn't just assume the tech exists because we can land on the moon.
I can't do this. I have just enough low level knowledge to know that the tech is there, which is what you have been denying all along. This would need the guys with the knowledge who make live time filters that separate signals into parts they wish to observe. They are probably all busy creating filters that flag our conversations as potentially harmful for security agencies or working on special effects at Marvel studios at the moment.Would love it if Victor Ian actually followed through on this tbh. Here is someone who actually knows what he's talking about and who doesn't just assume the tech exists because we can land on the moon.
OwnedThere are lots of people out there smarter than you. I don't think you have the authority to speak for the rest of us.
Boned.Did you pose so many pseudo barriers when your boss asked you to prepare his powerpoint presentation?
I'd have thought having the opportunity to work for you and the possibility of one day maybe even meeting you and getting any crumb of advise would be worth more than mere monetary reward? How do you know TBT isn't well remunerated for their tireless efforts?
