What to do about tour matches

The pitch was dangerous and the photos support that. Just because some Australians enjoy the look of the scoreboard doesn't make concerns about player safety "whinging".

For too long Australian cricket (and Australia in general) has been subjected to horrific generalizations and prejudice from the outside world. Despite the prejudice and hatred directed our way, the game has prospered here and we've maintained our dominance over world cricket for most of its existence. Supporters of lesser nations can't cop it. For too long they have taken umbrage at our natural superiority and have done nothing but look to tear down the magnificent edifice which is cricket in this country. They do so by a series of "what ifs?" and excuses in an attempt to disguise and paper over the general ineptitude and inferiority of their own teams, and indeed nations.

How often do we have to hear our lesser brethren from across the Tasman wax lyrical about the "near-run thing" which was their tour here when it rained for two tests with Australia miles ahead before the hosts comfortably drew the third, as if they were robbed of a series winning triumph? You don't see Wallaby fans (all three of them) bitching and moaning about the All Blacks beating them consistently, because they're able as human beings to acknowledge the superiority of their betters at that sport. It's time New Zealanders did the same wrt Australia and cricket (and indeed everything else bar Rugby).

Likewise, for how long will we have to put up with Indians saying the same sort of rubbish about the Adelaide test on their last tour? A match where Australia lost 12 wickets in the match and declared twice before winning? Or Pakistan supporters posting some ridiculous video of the 1992 WC group match toss because Imran Khan apparently wore a tee shirt which supposedly sent shivers down the spine of TOTAB? As if Border gave a flying **** about it (watch the video for yourselves - sure it's two minutes you won't get back and your eyes will bleed, but do it anyway so you come to understand the utter bullshit we as Australians have to put up with from the lessers). It's just bullshit of the highest order.

You get these posters who are quiet for weeks and months at a time, and just pop their heads up periodically for a bit of unjustified Aussie bashing. Well, no more. From here on, take the traditional ALP approach to them - when a head pops up, you kick the **** out of it so it doesn't pop up again.

We aren't going to put up with it any more. Henceforth, I call on Australian supporters on this site to call out this bullshit when you see it. I know it's tempting to not bother, because these fans of other nations are really just like gnats - a bit annoying but you can wave them away easily enough. Don't do it. From now on, squash them like the insects they are. I also include in this exercise the fans of the Little Lankans, still moaning about some decision Sangakkara copped in Hobart years ago. Seriously, win a test here - one ****ing test, and call us back.

It's probably no coincidence that the supporters of the teams which have had some success here in living memory - SA and England - are the least odious of the lesser nations' supporters. They're still dross, of course, but you don't hear them bitching and moaning about tour schedules like these other drongos.

Maintain your rage, fellow Australians. Hold your heads high as the team gets dicked in the UAE. We all know it isn't real cricket. Anytime spinners open the bowling it's just a throwback to the 1880s and a sick joke. Enjoy the footy finals and the Spring Carnival as the lads warm up for the real cricket later in our own summer. Gird up your loins for the inevitable **** posting by SL and Indian fans in the months ahead as they lose every test but pull the victim card as they always do. Stay strong and ready the sandpaper.

Wow so much whinging about people pointing out McCullum's whinging. Is that irony or just fitting?

lol just stop
Every now and then you've got to look in the brown paper bag that says 'Dead Dove. Do Not Eat' just to double check, you know.

OK, so it's more that you don't understand the game than you're trying to niggle.

The pitch looks like something NASA would have a closer look at, but you can't figure out why specialist batsmen bowled so many overs.
Not really, I'm just having a crack at your usual schtick. I now you're now learned because you spent three years here, but I genuinely dgaf.

All fair imo. Especially the point about the ABs. Just a few years back we could have won the Bledisloe with a bit of undeserved luck. It was a season where all of our super teams lost and NZ scored 100 in the first half of the first test and mentally clocked off thereafter to the point we almost won the last two matches. But its not something to whinge over. We all know it would have been an undeserved win even if it did happen. And it would have been a false dawn anyway rather than a signpost that our rugby team was actually improving.

What a load of hyperbole. Australia aren't that good now, are they, unless they use sandpaper and abuse? Since 2009, Australia have held top spot in ICC rankings for a grande total of nine months! India, by contrast, have held it for forty-five, South Africa forty-two whilst even mercurial England managed a whole year. One would have to go back a decade to discover ''Australian dominance'', surely?

I can't wait until Brendon McCullum receives a duly deserved knighthood for his services to upsetting online Australian cricket fans.

Edit: I see Neesham has a recent tweet re the 2015 tour game.

'It was low and slow and drier than anything I’ve ever seen. Then with the second new ball it started exploding on impact.'

Writes 7 full paragraphs of copious nonsense.

"lol I didn't even have to try to bait you"
I’d have thought the last line of the missive was a substantial give away, but then again, Subcontinental lack of perspective and all that.
