***Official*** India in New Zealand 2013/14

grind the day out. they've done so much hard work that it would be a shame to set 250 and india chase it easily.

we don't need to take any risks. bat for as long as possible and deal with the 4th innings when it happens. if we do manage to bat india out of the game then declare and have a cheeky pop while they're down and have nothing to gain.

Do they pull the trigger against the new ball? Or do they grind the day out and worry about target tomorrow?
Take as much time out of the game as possible as long as these two are in. Once we get into Jimmeh and Timmeh the run-rate will naturally rise.

This partnership is like they're stacking a giant pyramid of wine glasses. Beautiful, but as it gets higher you're just waiting for the inevitable crash. Had thought when these two came together we'd need at least a double from Baz and 150 from Watling. Baz in his nervous 220s but honestly I hope he gets the first triple. Deserves it.

It's 2.35am here and I have work tomorrow. Just can't make myself go to bed though, this is so good.

I would, but I'm not Baz. Baz will think in terms of "I need this many runs with this many overs to win this game"

This test is reminiscent of NZ vs SL from about 20 odd years ago. We were bowled out cheaply in the 1st innings and SL piled on the runs with Aravinda de Silva scoring 260 odd. Then NZ in the 2nd innings had the record partnership between Crowe and Jones. IIRC Jones scored 186 and Crowe was out for 299.
